Injury
NASHVILLE, TN - Sharks forward Torrey Mitchell skated with the team in Nashville on Monday afternoon, but is questionable to play against the Predators on Tuesday night at Bridgestone Arena.
Check back for further news on Mitchell at some point tomorrow. Should he not be able to play, Benn Ferreiro will step into the lineup.
No Tyler Bozak. Out again tonight.
As predicted, Bozak sits tonight.
John Erskine, who is recovering from offseason surgery on his left shoulder, has not yet been cleared for contact. As for whether the rugged defenseman will go on the trip to Edmonton and Vancovuver, Boudreau wasn’t sure.
Erskine has an opening with Mike Green questionable but may not be clear for contact. Regardless, he holds no fantasy hockey value.
Injury
“It was good, he came through it and I said, ‘If you get through the first one you’ll be able to get through the next couple because there were a lot of shots today,’” said Boudreau, who added that the Capitals will not take an extra goaltender on the trip to western Canada.
Sounds like Neuvirth will be healthy enough to at least backup Vokoun. The former 34th overall pick hasn't played since the season opener when he defeated the Canes in overtime.
Alex Ovechkin left practice briefly Monday after suffering a cut to his forehead, above his right eye, but returned quickly to finish the remainder of the drills. Ovechkin did not take part in the bag skate at the conclusion of the workout, however.
Doesn't sound like anything serious and certainly won't keep Ovi out of the lineup. Through seven games he has three goals and seven points.
Call up / Send down
Ducks recall LW Patrick Maroon from Syracuse (AHL). Maroon is here in Chicago with them at late afternoon practice.
The team dressed seven defensemen in their last game which speaks to their depth up front. Look for Maroon to actually play during this stint with the team.
Line Change
I'm not sure, but it looks like Parise could be a center today between Kovalchuk and Palmieri.
Look for Parise to center the second line as coach Pete DeBoer juggles the lines. If Patrick Kane -- a natural center who also converted to wing at the NHL level -- can play a successful pivot for the Blackhawks, Why can't Parise. The Minneapolis, Minnesota scored three goal and four points over his first six games of the season.
Call up / Send down
The Capitals are recalling the defenseman from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, his agent told The Washington Times.
Collins is recalled as injury insurance for Mike Green and John Erskine.
David Perron has been practicing with the Blues lately, but today was his first full practice on a non-game day. "Do you see the first drill?" Perron said. "I was brutal."
Perron will need some time to regain his timing after missing a full year.
Line Change
Matt D'Agostini remained on a line with T.J. Oshie and Patrik Berglund today in practice, but D'Agostini was on the left wing, with Oshie on the right wing. They had been playing the opposite wings recently.
D'Agostini should further benefit from a line change and continue his scoring touch. Through the team's first eight games, he scored four goals.
Blues captain David Backes isn't sure he suffered a concussion Saturday after being hit by Philadelphia's Chris Pronger, but he acknowledged today he had symptoms.
Backes skated today and is not expected to miss any playing time despite feeling concussion-like symptoms today.

Vancouver, B.C. – Vancouver Canucks President and General Manager Mike Gillis announced today that the Canucks have assigned centre Steve Reinprecht to the AHL Chicago Wolves. Reinprecht, alongside David Booth, was acquired by the Canucks from the Florida Panthers on October 22, 2011.

Line Change
Renney says no official decision yet on Nugent-Hopkins, but says everything they've seen has been "favourable". But...RNH has no word yet.
The team remains coy with their decision on Nugent-Hopkins but it sounds like he will stay. Through his first seven games he scored five goals and seven points.
Injury
Renney does not expect Hemsky back skating with the team this week. That means the timeline is delayed from where it was set a week ago.
Sounds like yet another year of touch-and-go with Hemsky. Last season he only played in 47 contests and has missed five of the last seven which prorates to under 25 games. Keep him only if you have available space on your bench.
Line Change
I lied. Mitchell now out there with Ferriero and Handzus as the shuffling continues at #SJSharks practice.
Mitchell practicing with his usual line indicates he could be ready to return. Either Mitchell or Benn Ferreiro will play on the third line tomorrow.
Goalie Start
Coach V - Luongo to start in #Edmonton.
Over 31 career starts against the Oilers, Luongo holds a 19-9-1-2 record with a 2.29 GAA, .916 SV% and two shutouts.
Nothing new on Andy McDonald
McDonald likely is out indefinitely creating an opportunity for Vladimir Sobotka and Evgeni Grachev. Look for him to return to practice well before returning to the lineup.

Elliott likely will start in goal
Over four career starts against the Canucks, Elliott holds a 1-3-0 record with a 2.80 GAA and .909 SV%.
