Ellerby is still looking to make his 2011-2012 debut. Last season he played in 54 games, registering two goals and 12 points with a minus-15 rating. He projects to be a stay-at-home defender which could help out his starting goalie.
Perhaps Gonchar's injury is a blessing in disguise for the Sens. Through five games this season he posted two assists with a minus-3 rating. Look for Brian Lee to step back into the lineup.
Through his first two games with the Crunch, Maroon scored two goals and five points. He could draw into the lineup if Matt Beleskey is not cleared for contact.
Look for Cogliano on the second PP unit. WIth 24 career PP, he could do some damage with some talented linemates like Saku Koivu and Bobby Ryan.
Beleskey should draw back into the lineup with Blake out. While he practiced yesterday on the fourth line, he could very well end up in a scoring role.
McMillan should get the first crack at the second line with Blake sidelined. Last season, he played in a scoring role quite frequently and scored 10 goals with 11 assists.
As previously stated, if Brunnstrom works out anywhere in the NHL, it will be with the Red Wings. Look for him to draw into a top six role at some point due to injuries or inconsistency.
Through four career games against the Ducks, Halak holds a 2-1-0 record with a 2.25 GAA and .901 SV%.
Newbury had a strong preseason earning the first callup. Through his first four games with the CT Whale, Newbury scored four goals and eight points.
With no points and only one shot on goal through his first three games, the Rangers will sent Zuccarello back down to the AHL for some added seasoning.
