“Right now, I’m not satisfied with my performance,” Bryzgalov said. “I feel I’ve started to feel right, in terms of where I am going. I started feeling better about myself, in the practice and even in the game.”

Bryzgalov played solid hockey out of the gate last season but his peripherals were still .20 - .40 higher than his end-season result. In other words, a slow start would not be a cause for concern. Feel free to draft him among the elite netminders.

OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators announced today they have reduced their training camp roster by one player, reassigning goaltender Mike McKenna to the team’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.

Filppula said he can be a little more offensive-minded while playing the wing, since the center has more defensive responsibilities in the Red Wings’ system.

Filppula could finally break out while playing on Henrik Zetterberg or Pavel Datsyuk's wing. He scored 16 goals and 39 points last season but has never posted more than 40 points in his five year career. An increase to 50 points could be expected should he stick on a scoring line.

Devils forward Dainius Zubrus said he “felt pretty good” in today’s practice with the players who will not be participating in tonight’s preseason game in Philadelphia. It was Zubrus’ first practice since last Wednesday morning because of a lower-body injury.

Certainly a step in the right direction. The versatile forward scored 13 goals and 30 points last season while missing only three games. The team continues to play it safe with him in order to avoid another injury up-front.

There are 11 forwards and six defensemen on the ice for this practice and the Devils say Matt Taormina has an upper-body injury, so based on that, here is their unofficial lineup tonight.

No further news on the extent of his injury but it certainly does not help his chances of making the team. Taormina scored three goals to go along with five points in 17 games before missing the rest of the season to the aforementioned ankle injury. Regardless, the offensive-minded defenseman fit into the team's system and should be a player to watch for in the future.

Stralman hasn't stood out during his tryout with the team and could get cut. As an unsigned player he holds very limited fantasy hockey value.

The play of Hiller in camp has lifted the spirits of his teammates. Before he incurred the symptoms, the Swiss netminder played in his first All-Star game and was becoming a legitimate Vezina Trophy candidate.

Hiller's play will stay under the magnifying glass for most of the season but this news is certainly a welcome sign. Last season the Swiss 'tender posted a 2.56 GAA and .924 SV% through 49 games played. Feel safer drafting/keeping the Swiss 'tender.
