Sounds like good news for the team's top line center. Last season, Roy scored 10 goals and 35 points in as many games before missing the rest of the season. Feel free to draft him if you are in need of a solid playmaker.

Defenseman Alexandre Picard remains sidelined due to a hand injury and did not practice today. Picard who was injured in the third period of Saturday’s game, has not skated since Saturday. He entered camp in the mix for a top-7 spot but he hasn’t done enough to jump the likes of Matt Niskanen on the depth chart.

Picard's chances of making the team are drastically decreased by this injury. Last season, the Gatineau, Quebec native scored three goals and eight points through 43 games with the Montreal Canadiens. He holds close to no fantasy hockey value at this point.

Hejda is supposed to be out 2-4 weeks with a knee injury, and there seemed a lot of doubt whether he’d be ready for opening night against Detroit. Doesn’t seem like much doubt now. He’s out there skating hard, in a full-contact scrimmage.

Hejda's health affects Kyle Cumiskey, Shane O'Brien and Stefan Elliott -- all of which are competing with more established players for playing time. Last season, the stay-at-home defender scored five goals and 20 points through 77 games with the Columbus Blue Jackets. Don't expect anything more than those point totals, which were quite close to career highs. Don't expect much more in terms of production.

Likewise, Jared Spurgeon has a bruised rib and Justin Falk will play in his place.

Just a precautionary measure as the Wild want their young, puck-moving d-man healthy. Last season, Spurgeon scored four goals and 12 points through 53 games including six on the PP. Expect his playing time to increase in his sophomore season.

Matt Cullen won't play tonight because he's banged up from the Eric Tangradi check the other night. He is fine though and is just being kept out to heal up

Since tonight's game is still an exhibition tilt, the Wild can afford to rest their second liner. Cullen scored 12 goals and 39 points last season -- his first with his hometown team. Expect somewhere between 40 and 50 points over a full year for the versatile powerplay specialist.

In the 2023-24 season, there were a total of 14 suspensions and 17 fines issued throughout the NHL. The longest suspension served was dealt to former-Detroit Red Wing David Perron at six-games after a cross-checking penalty dealt ironically against his current team in the 2024-25 season, the Ottawa Senators. Additionally, Perron was fined $148,437.48 for his actions.
