"Usually, I'm not that good in camp," Fleury said. "But, last year, I had one of my best training camps, and the start of the season was not good."
Fleury typically plays better during the regular season following a poor camp. While 35 wins or more are to be expected his 2.35 GAA was a career high.
Line Change
Jason Williams has not had a particularly strong training camp but it's still early as he's battling the likes of Richard Park and Ryan Craig among others for a final roster spot. One area Bylsma continues to be intrigued about is what Williams might be able to add to a possible No. 2 power play unit. "Saw him on the point in the power play shooting the puck hard last night. He did that very well, " Bylsma said. "That’s more along the lines of what we’re looking for him."
32 of Williams's 93 career NHL goals have come on the powerplay. If he makes the roster, he could find a niche at the point on the second unit.
Line Change
Richard Park has the look of a player who fits the Penguins system extremely well and could be an asset as a 12th or 13th forward.
Park likely makes the team as a spare forward. In his last NHL season the native of South Korea potted nine goals to go along with 31 points.

"That is not set in stone, " head coach Dan Bylsma said today on his backend pairings. I wouldn't set any pairings or anything in stone on the backend. Will play itself a little bit out in camp. 5, 6, 7, and 8 aren't set in stone."
With seven players signed to a one-way contract, the Pens will hold a competitive training camp. Factor in the newly-signed Alexandre Picard and Lovejoy will need to earn his playing time.
Martin Brodeur, who missed Monday's scrimmage and practice because of a slight hamstring pull, took part in the Devils' third session today, which included AHL players.
The veteran goalie said after the workout that he felt fine.
In an injury marred season Brodeur only won 23 games while posting his lowest save percentage since 1994-1995. The team will need their starting goalie healthy and to play at the top of his game in order to get back into the playoffs.
#stars Stéphane Robidas (hip) will be back this week-end or early next week.
Robidas scored five goals and 30 points in 81 games last season for the Stars. With the departure of Brad Richards, the former 7th round pick will probably find his way back onto the top power play unit.
Line Change
I think he’s just got to be a physical force.... He’s a younger Matt Bradley and hopefully he can grow into that role.
The undrafted forward scored two goals and an assist in 31 games for the Caps last season. He figures to make the team and slot onto the fourth line alongside Matt Hendricks and Jeff Halpern.
Said Trotz, “Whenever he gets back we’ll put him back in the mix, but if he’s out another week, his chances of being part of the group get less and less every day he’s out.”
We expected Josi to make the team out of camp but the job could now go to another talented Nashville defender like Ryan Ellis.
Geoffrion cut (literally): Forward Blake Geoffrion’s wrist was wrapped up in the Predators’ practice facility at Centennial Sportsplex today. Nashville Coach Barry Trotz said it was stepped on by a skate blade last night during Nashville’s 4-3 second game loss to Florida.
No official word on how much time he will miss. The center scored six goals and eight points in 20 games last season. In his first full season, he is expected to carry more of the offensive load.
For the past two weeks the defenseman, who suffered a concussion Jan. 16, has upped his workouts on the exercise bike. He’s still a long ways from re-joining Nashville, but this indicates a positive step in Bouillon’s recovery.

Tyler Cuma, only here because of insurance, will play his first game (other than Traverse City) since tearing his ACL at the X in a Houston-Peoria game Feb. 13
Once a top prospect, Cuma will try to impress the team's brass in camp. The former first round pick only played 31 games for the Houston Aeros last season and likely will need at least another year worth of seasoning.

Simon Gagne did not practice today because of flu symptoms, but everyone else is expected to participate.
Scott Parse took his place on the left side of Mike Richards and Dustin Brown. Expect Gagne to return in a few days, obviously before the start of the season.
Stefan Schneider broke his hand yesterday and is out 4-6 weeks.
The undrafted skater was planning on challenging for a roster spot but will not need to catch the coach's eye in the AHL.
Still waiting on tests on Joslin (illness).
Joslin fit in well last season in his 17-game tryout. The two-way defender likely makes the team as 6-7th defender this season.
LaRose, Dwyer have minor injuries.
Dwyer plays a good game away from the puck and actually chipped in last season with eight goals and 18 points. With his demotion to the fourth line, he likely remains irrelevant in fantasy hockey.

LaRose skated yesterday so he likely is just a bit banged up. The 29-year-old scored 16 goals and 31 points while flanking Brandon Sutter on the third line last season. Expect similar things from the undrafted winger.
Ward may play Friday against NASH, Maurice says. If not in Charlotte game against Jets.
Ward was held out of the last few days with a minor injury but should be fine. The 27-year-old played a career-high 74 games last season.
Macenauer (groin) close to returning.
Macenauer scored 13 goals and 32 points in his first AHL campaign with the Syracuse Crunch. With a strong depth chart above him, he figures to return to Syracuse following training camp.
