Reimer will start the tail-end of a back-to-back for the Red Wings on Saturday, his first start since February 25th. The veteran netminder allowed two goals on 14 shots (.857 SV%) entering Wednesday's 7-2 loss to the Colorado Avalanche in relief of Alex Lyon but has won his last two starts, allowing only two total goals.

Lyon has struggled lately, losing three straight, but will return to the crease for the fifth straight time on Friday night. Lyon has allowed four or more goals in three straight, including allowing five on 40 shots (.875 SV%) in a 7-2 loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday. The Red Wings enter action as -139 road favourites against an Arizona Coyotes club that lost 5-2 last night to the Minnesota Wild.

After trading Ryan Johansen to the Philadelphia Flyers, the Avalanche filled their center-ice gap by acquiring Mittelstadt via trade from the Buffalo Sabres. The 25-year-old Mittelstadt was enjoying his best season with the Sabres, with 47 points (14G / 33A) in 62 games.

Trade rumours circulating Walker for the last few weeks finally materialized on Wednesday in a trade sending him to Colorado. The 29-year-old Walker, in his first season with the Philadelphia Flyers, tallied 22 points (6G / 16A), 109 shots, 81 hits, and 98 blocks in 68 games.

Nichuskin (personal) will return on Friday vs. Minnesota.

Nichushkin has not played since January 10th before entering the NHL's Player Assistance program. He has missed 20 games and, after returning to practice last week, is ready to rejoin the Avalanche on Friday. Before his absence, Nichushkin scored at a torrid pace with 21 points (19G / 9A) in his last 15 games.

The Red Wings have acquired Radim Simek and a 2024 seventh-round pick from the Sharks for Klim Kostin.

Simek has been an NHL regular with the San Jose Sharks since the 2018-19 season but has spent the entirety of the 2023-24 campaign in the AHL. In 40 games with the San Jose Barracuda, he has 16 points (4G / 12A) and 29 penalty minutes.

Jost began the season with the Sabres, scoring four points (2G / 2A) in 29 games, but was placed on waivers in December and has been with the Rochester Americans (AHL) since. In 25 games with Rochester, the 25-year-old Jost has 14 points (4G / 10A).

The Rangers have acquired Nic Petan from the Wild for Turner Elson.

Petan is no stranger to the NHL, with 170 career games, but was limited to only six contests with the Minnesota Wild this season. The 28-year-old Petan has spent most of the 2023-24 campaign in the AHL, scoring an impressive 40 points (12G / 28A) in 44 games with the Iowa Wild.

Elson is a 31-year-old journeyman who has played three career NHL games, most recently in the 2021-22 season with the Detroit Red Wings. Elson has spent the entirety of the 2023-24 campaign with the Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL), scoring 12 points (5G / 7A) in 38 games.

Dunn was on the receiving end of a vicious hit by Martin Pospisil of the Calgary Flames in the third period of Monday's game and exited the contest after playing 19:02 time-on-ice. He will miss a second straight game on Friday. The 27-year-old Dunn is enjoying another productive season with Seattle and has six points (3G / 3A) in his last seven games.

The Predators have acquired Jason Zucker from the Coyotes for a sixth-round pick.

Zucker adds some offensive depth to a Predators club that already added Anthony Beauvillier to their roster via trade on Thursday. The 32-year-old Zucker has 25 points (9G / 16A), 104 shots, and 74 hits in 51 games and will likely be a fixture in the Predators middle-six down the stretch.

Fleury has been recalled from Coachella Valley (AHL).

Fleury played 12 games with Seattle last season but has spent the entirety of the 2023-24 campaign with the Coachella Valley Firebirds (AHL), tallying 26 points (5G / 21A) in 54 games. The 25-year-old Fleury was the third-round pick of the Montreal Canadiens in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.

Lindholm has not played since February 19th, nine games with a lower-body injury, but could return to the lineup on Saturday against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The 30-year-old defenseman has 19 points (1G / 18A), 71 shots, and 73 blocks in 56 games.
