Thompson (upper-body) skated on Wednesday but is still considered day-to-day.

Thompson exited Sunday's 4-3 win over New Jersey Devils in the third period after being on the receiving end of an unsuspecting hit from Stefan Noesen. He did not play in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets but could be an option when the Sabres return to action on Saturday against the Nashville Predators. The 27-year-old Thompson has been tremendous offensively lately, scoring 14 points (7G / 7A) in his last nine games.

Tage Thompson
Cozens missed practice on Wednesday due to a lower-body injury.

Cozens played 15:15 time-on-ice in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets but was absent from practice on Wednesday due to a lower-body injury. The 23-year-old Cozens has 26 points (10G / 16A) in 53 games this season and is pacing for the worst offensive production of his career since his rookie season in 2020-21 when he had 13 points (4G / 9A) as a rookie in 41 games. Cozens' status is up in the air for when the Sabres return to action on Saturday against the Nashville Predators.

Dylan Cozens
Solovyov has been recalled from the Calgary Wranglers (AHL).

Solovyov made his NHL debut last season, scoring three points (0G / 3A) in 10 games with the Flames but has primarily been an AHL player in his young professional career. The 24-year-old defenseman has 21 points (6G / 15A) in 41 games with the Calgary Wranglers (AHL) this season.

Ilya Solovyov
Smith (knee) will return to Chicago's lineup vs. Edmonton on Wednesday.

Smith has been limited to only four games since December 12th due to a nagging back and knee issue but will return to the lineup on Wednesday against the Edmonton Oilers. The 35-year-old forward is averaging 11:41 time-on-ice and has 11 points (6G / 5A) in 30 games this season.

Craig Smith
Crosby (upper-body) is absent from Pittsburgh's practice on Wednesday and is being evaluated.

Crosby exited Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the New Jersey Devils for an eight-minute stretch due to an undisclosed injury but returned to the contest. The 37-year-old Crosby downplayed any injury concerns following the game but has stated after practice on Wednesday that he is being evaluated. Crosby has seven points (4G / 3A) during a five-game point streak.

Sidney Crosby
Soderblom will start vs. Edmonton on Wednesday.

The Blackhawks are coming off a 5-1 loss to the Florida Panthers and will switch to Soderblom between the pipes on Wednesday against the Edmonton Oilers. The 25-year-old Soderblom has played well lately despite an unfavorable 1-2-2 record in his last five games, posting a solid .921 SV%. He has a 2.89 GAA and .909 SV% in 23 appearances this season (7-12-3). The Blackhawks enter Wednesday's contest as sizeable +237 home underdogs against an Oilers squad that defeated the St. Louis Blues 3-2 in overtime last night.

Arvid Soderblom
Gambrell has been reassigned to Cleveland (AHL) from his emergency recall.

With the Blue Jackets dealing with some major injuries in their forward group, Gambrell was recalled earlier this week but did not crack the lineup and will return to the Cleveland Monsters (AHL). The 28-year-old Gambrell has 233 games of NHL experience but has spent the entirety of the 2024-25 season in the AHL, tallying 20 points (9G / 11A) in 31 games this season.

Dylan Gambrell
Shesterkin will start Wednesday vs. the Bruins.

The Rangers snapped a three-game losing skid on Sunday with Jonathan Quick between the pipes in a 4-2 win over the Vegas Golden Knights, but the team will revert to Shesterkin on Wednesday against the Bruins. The 29-year-old Shesterkin seemed to be turning a corner on a disappointing season, posting a .948 SV% over a seven-game stretch (6-0-1) before following that up by allowing 14 goals in his next three games (0-3-0) and posting a horrid .806 SV%. The Rangers enter Wednesday's contest as sizeable -200 home favorites against a Bruins team that played last night, defeating the Minnesota Wild 3-0.

Igor Shesterkin
Terry (illness) took full part in warmups and is expected to play against the Stars on Tuesday.

Terry did not play on Sunday due to an illness and his status for Tuesday's game against the Dallas Stars is up in the air. The 27-year-old Terry is averaging 18:56 time-on-ice and has 39 points (16G / 23A) in 47 games this season.

Troy Terry
Toffoli (lower-body) took full part in warmups and is expected to play against the Canadiens on Tuesday.

Toffoli did not practice on Sunday and his status for Tuesday's game against the Montreal Canadiens was up in the air. The 32-year-old Toffoli is averaging 16:38 time-on-ice and has 32 points (18G / 14A) in 51 games this season.
