Tavares has missed the last six games with a lower-body injury but will play Saturday in Edmonton. Tavares, who has 20 goals and 22 assists in 44 games this season, will centre the Maple Leafs' second line with William Nylander and Max Pacioretty on his wings.

Kyrou has the chance to make his NHL debut on Sunday, as he replaces Kyle Capobianco on the Stars roster. The 21-year-old defenseman has four goals and nine assists (13 points) in 26 games with Texas (AHL) this season.




McDonald was an undrafted free agent out of the OHL, who is in his second year with Texas (AHL). The 22-year-old winger has five points (3G / 2A) in 31 AHL games this season. If he plays Sunday vs. the Blue Jackets, it would be his NHL debut.

Capobianco was a minus-2 with four PIMS in 11:23 TOI in his Stars debut on Friday. He gets returned to the AHL and both Kyle McDonald and Christian Kyrou have been recalled.
