NHL Hockey Player News

McDavid (olympics) will return and dress for Edmonton in Anaheim on Wednesday.

McDavid led all players at the Olympics with 13 points (2G / 11A) in six games during Canada's Silver Medal Performance and will return to Edmonton's lineup on Wednesday against the Anaheim Ducks. The 29-year-old McDavid is having another outstanding season, leading the NHL with 96 points (34G / 62A) through 58 games. Even more impressive, McDavid has actually increased his production as the season has progressed, with 60 points (23G / 37A) in his last 31 games.

Connor McDavid
Jarry will start in Anaheim on Wednesday.

The Oilers hope the Olympic break gave Jarry a mental reset as the team prepares for the final two months of the regular season. The 30-year-old Jarry has left much to be desired since being acquired in a trade from the Pittsburgh Penguins, posting an ugly 3.64 GAA and .869 SV% in 11 appearances (6-4-1). Heading into the Olympic break, Jarry had allowed four or more goals in four straight starts (1-3-0). The Oilers enter the action on Wednesday as -126 road favourites against an Anaheim Ducks team that was 8-2-0 heading into the Olympic break.

Tristan Jarry
Theodore (olympics) will be out vs. Los Angeles on Wednesday.

Theodore scored two points (1G/1A) in six games during Team Canada's Silver Medal performance at the Olympics and will not play when Vegas returns to action on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Kings. He is expected to return to the lineup on Friday against the Washington Capitals. Despite Vegas running a five-forward powerplay unit for most of the season, Theodore has remained productive, with 27 points (7G / 20A) through 46 games.

Shea Theodore
Marner (olympics) will miss Wednesday's game in Los Angeles.

Marner had five points (1G / 4A) for Team Canada in six games during their Silver Medal performance and will not play when Vegas returns to action on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Kings. He is expected to return to the lineup on Friday against the Washington Capitals. The 28-year-old Marner is having an effective first season in Vegas, with 58 points (16G / 42A) through 57 games. He had six points (2G / 4A) during a five-game point streak heading into the Olympic break.

Mitch Marner
Stone (olympics) will be out vs. Los Angeles on Wednesday.

Mark Stone scored four points (2G / 2A) in six games during Team Canada's Silver Medal performance at the Olympics and will not play when Vegas returns to action on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Kings. He is expected to return to the lineup on Friday against the Washington Capitals. The 33-year-old Stone is producing at a career-best rate this season, with 60 points (21G / 39A) through 41 games. He had a career-high 73 points (33G / 40A) in 77 games in the 2018-19 season.

Mark Stone
Makar (olympics) will be a game-time decision in Utah on Wednesday.

Makar led Team Canada's blueline with six points (2G / 4A) in six games during their Silver Medal Performance at the Olympics, and it is unclear if he will be ready to suit up when Colorado returns to action against the Utah Mammoth. Makar is having another great season, ranking fifth amongst all defensemen with 57 points (15G / 42A) through 55 games.

Cale Makar
Toews (olympics) will be a game-time decision in Utah on Wednesday.

Toews played a prominent role for Team Canada, scoring three points (1G / 2A) in six games, during their Silver Medal performance, and it is unclear if he will be ready to suit up for Colorado when they return to action on Wednesday against the Utah Mammoth. Heading into this season, Toews had produced at a 0.65 point-per-game pace, but has seen that dip drastically in 2025-26, with only 13 points (1G / 12A) through 42 games (0.31 P/PG).

Devon Toews
MacKinnon (olympics) will be a game-time decision in Utah on Wednesday.

MacKinnon had seven points (4G / 3A) in six games for Team Canada during their Silver Medal performance at the Olympics, and it is unclear if he will be ready to suit up when Colorado returns to action on Wednesday against the Utah Mammoth. The 30-year-old MacKinnon is having another tremendous season, among the league leaders with 93 points (40G / 53A) through 55 games. That said, he has only 22 powerplay points, the fewest of any player with at least 69 points this season.

Nathan MacKinnon
Nelson (olympics) will be a game-time decision in Utah on Wednesday.

Nelson scored three points (2G / 1A) in six games to help Team USA win a Gold Medal, and it is unclear if he will be ready to return to action for Colorado on Wednesday against the Utah Mammoth. The 34-year-old Nelson is having an outstanding first full season in Colorado, scoring 49 points (29G / 20A) in 55 games. He had 15 goals in 18 games leading up to the Olympic break.

Brock Nelson
Hill was the first goalie off the ice at Vegas' morning skate.

Hill has battled injuries this season, playing only 12 games and struggling when called upon, but hopes the extra rest during the Olympic break will help him in the final two months of the season. That said, the 29-year-old Hill had his best performance of the season in Vegas' final game leading up to the Olympic Break, saving 32 of 33 shots (.970 SV%) in a 4-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings. The Golden Knights enter Wednesday's rematch as +131 road underdogs against a Kings team that will welcome superstar Artemi Panarin into the lineup for his team debut.

Adin Hill
Strome will be a healthy scratch vs. Edmonton on Wednesday.

With Leo Carlsson (lower body) returning to Anaheim's lineup, Strome will be the odd man out on Wednesday against the Edmonton Oilers. After five consecutive seasons with over 40 points, the 32-year-old Strome has struggled in the 2025-26 season with the Ducks, scoring only eight points (3G / 5A) through 32 games.

Ryan Strome
Carlsson (lower-body) will return vs. Edmonton on Wednesday.

Carlsson has not played since January 10th but will return to Anaheim's lineup on Wednesday against the Edmonton Oilers. The 21-year-old Swedish forward is having an excellent season with 44 points (18G / 26A) in 44 games, but his production had declined in the weeks leading up to his injury, with only 3 points (1G / 2A) in his last 11 games.

Leo Carlsson
Granlund (upper-body) is out vs. Edmonton.

Granlund exited Finland's Bronze Medal victory over Slovakia late in the third period due to an upper-body injury and will be sidelined as Anaheim returns to action on Wednesday against the Edmonton Oilers. The 33-year-old Granlund has had an up-and-down first season with Anaheim, but was productive heading into the Olympic break, with seven points (3G / 4A) in his last six games.

Mikael Granlund
Dostal will start vs. Edmonton on Wednesday.

Dostal was impressive and had a heavy workload while representing Team Czechia at the Olympics. Still, he will be ready to return to the crease for Anaheim on Wednesday against the Edmonton Oilers. The 25-year-old Dostal was on a tremendous run heading into the Olympic break, posting a dazzling 1.96 GAA and .930 SV% in his last nine games (8-1-0), and will hope to carry that momentum to help his team battle for a playoff spot. The Ducks enter Wednesday's contest as slight -101 home underdogs against an Oilers team that defeated them 7-4 in their previous meeting.

Lukas Dostal
Forsberg was the first goalie off the ice at Los Angeles' morning skate.

Darcy Kuemper didn't see any playing time while representing Team Canada during their Silver Medal performance at the Olympics, but will still get some extra rest after several busy travel days, allowing Forsberg to tend the twine on Wednesday against the Vegas Golden Knights. The 33-year-old Forsberg allowed four goals on 22 shots (.818 SV%) in a 4-1 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights in the Kings' final game before the Olympic break, but had been very impressive in the weeks leading up to that loss, helping his team record a point in five straight (3-0-2) while posting a solid 2.07 GAA and .933 SV%. The Kings enter Wednesday's contest as -141 home favourites.

Anton Forsberg
Tolopilo will start vs. Winnipeg on Wednesday.

Kevin Lankinen has experienced some unexpected travel difficulties on his route back from the Olympics, leaving the net to Tolopilo in Vancouver's return to action on Wednesday against the Winnipeg Jets. With Thatcher Demko (hip surgery) out for the remainder of the season, Tolopilo has a chance to earn some extra playing time. The 25-year-old Tolopilo was excellent heading into the Olympic break, posting a 1.35 GAA and .960 SV% in his last three games (1-1-1). Vancouver enters Wednesday's contest as +115 home underdogs against a Winnipeg team that defeated them 5-3 in their previous meeting.

Nikita Tolopilo
Buium (upper-body) will return to Vancouver's lineup vs. Winnipeg on Wednesday.

Buium missed two weeks heading into the Olympic break due to an upper-body injury, but will draw back into the lineup when Vancouver returns to action on Wednesday against the Winnipeg Jets. The 20-year-old Buium was acquired by Vancouver in a trade earlier this season and has six points (2G / 4A) since joining the team.

Zeev Buium
Rossi (lower-body) will return to Vancouver's lineup vs. Winnipeg on Wednesday.

Rossi has not played since the end of December due to a lower-body injury, but will draw back into the lineup when Vancouver returns to action on Wednesday against the Winnipeg Jets. The 24-year-old Rossi only has two points (1G / 1A) in eight games with Vancouver this season.

Marco Rossi
Boeser (concussion) will return to Vancouver's lineup vs. Winnipeg on Wednesday.

Boeser was sidelined for two weeks heading into the Olympic break due to a concussion, but will be ready to draw into the lineup when Vancouver returns to action on Wednesday against the Winnipeg Jets. The 29-year-old Boeser has three points (2G / 1A) in his last three games, but has had a disappointing season, with 25 points (12G / 13A) through 50 games.
