Quick's season starts on a rough note.
After the Kings' Stanley Cup banner raising ceremony, Quick went on to allow four goals on 27 shots and was pulled before the start of the third period. "It wasn’t good enough, they were better than we were," Quick said after the game. "They got the win. I don’t think it had anything to do with all that stuff we had to do before, they were the better team." Martin Jones stopped all three shots he faced in relief as the Sharks finished the night with an impressive 4-0 win.

After being returned from Milwaukee, Filip Forsberg was given just 9:48 of ice time.
Forsberg should not be owned in any yearly fantasy leagues.

Giroux is still searching for his first goal.
Giroux has just three assists and a minus-5 rating in nine games so far. The Islanders might give him reason to have hope that it could come Saturday. He has seven goals and 21 assists in 25 career games against them, his best point-per-game average against any NHL team.

Giroux called Friday's practice, which featured conditioning drills, the "hardest of the year."
Giroux is mired in a slump to start the season with only 3 assists in 8 games. Look to try and buy low on the talented young forward.

After signing a one-year, $2 million deal with the Ducks this past summer, Penner was handed a golden opportunity when camp started. Anaheim head coach Bruce Boudreau gave him the chance to be reunited on the top line with Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry, a trio that was key in Anaheim’s 2007 Cup triumph. But Penner needs to show that he belongs there.
"He’ll never have a greater opportunity to play with players of the caliber of Ryan and Corey. It’s all up to him,” Boudreau said. "We want it to work. But in the end, he’s going to have to be the one that produces and shows that he deserves to be on that line." Penner found himself on a line with Matt Beleskey and Rickard Rakell this morning which suggests that his time with Perry and Getzlaf may be over.

Since signing a five-year extension, Alex Semin has two goals and a minus-9 rating in 11 games.
In fairness to Semin, the entire Canes team has been on a cold streak since that signing. Losing Cam Ward will do that.

Milan Lucic has 1 goal in last 13 games & only 3 total shots on net in last 5 games. Not good enough for former 30-goal scorer.
Lucic has just 4 goals on the season. He is at least still contributing to the PIMs column.

Richards still has no goals in the past 14 games and just two on the season, but the Rangers (9-8-2) need him to snap back into form as a playmaker for this grueling stretch of five games in eight days.
The Richards - Nash combo is still bound to produce at some point this season so if you are looking for buy-low candidates down the stretch, Richards should be high on your shortlist.

Kessel still goal-less in 2013.
Kessel leads the league in shots on goal this season but still doesn't have a goal. Now it is not like he isn't playing well, because he is. He's generated tons of chances and hit iron multiple times. It is only a matter of time before he gets a goal. Could it be tonight? And once he does get that monkey off his back, will the flood gates open?

Ovechkin off to a slow start.
Ovie only has 2 G, 2 A, -2 and has 1 GWG. He has had his best two games of the season in his last 2 games. However the results still aren't there. Ovechkin may not be what he once was but how can you go from a guarantee of over a point-per-game pace to just 4 points in 9 games? He's got the skill he just needs to find the back of the net.

He has been on the ice for 11 of the 15 goals the Wild has allowed, and he has a minus-5 plus-minus rating, which leaves him tied for 611th in the NHL out of 624 skaters.
Suter is too high profile to give up on now but it's understandable that the absence of Shea Weber across the point is affecting his play. Stick Suter on the pine for now, if you must.

#Coyotes Head Coach Dave Tippett: "Smitty, like everybody, has to be a little bit better but if we play like that we've got no chance."
Smith has allowed 10 goals on 57 shots in his two starts of the young season much to the disappointment of his fantasy owners who drafted him among the top goaltenders available.
