Ray Emery was brought in on a professional tryout to potentially serve as Ben Bishop’s backup while Vasilevskiy is on the shelf.

Clowe has suffered four concussions in the last two seasons and doctors have recommended that he does not play again. The last time Clowe has played was November 6th, 2014 and has likely been forced into retirement. He is expected to sit on longterm injured reserve throughout the remainder of his three-year, $14.55 million contract.

Pacioretty avoided serious injury and surgery when he suffered fractures to his left tibial plateau in a training session in July. Pacioretty won’t be ready to join his teammates for the start of training camp and doesn’t have a timetable for his return. His status for the Habs’ season opener on October 10th remains up in the air.

Ritchie underwent successful surgery to repair a torn ligament in his wrist. Ritchie was expected to battle for a spot on the Stars opening day roster, but his injury creates an opening for another young winger to crack the roster.

Vasilevskiy appeared poised to push Ben Bishop for starts right out of the gate, but he will now miss at least the first month of the season. For fantasy owners drafting Bishop, it would be wise to invest in the 21-year-old Vasilevskiy--especially now considering his draft-day value will be much lower.

Desharnais went to the hospital on Sunday because of dehydration, but is with the Canadiens in Tampa Bay and should play on Wednesday.

Paquette exited Game 2 in Montreal early in the second period after suffering an undisclosed injury late in the first. Paquette played just 4:36 of Game 2. He practiced on Tuesday with the rest of his Lightning teammates ahead of Game 3 and didn’t seem limited while participating in all drills. He said the day off Monday was definitely beneficial to help his body recuperate. He will be a game-time decision.

Diaz has been sidelined with a lower-body injury since April 2nd, but he will get back into the lineup for Game 3 vs. the Ducks. Gleason missed Sunday’s practice, but he was on the ice for Monday’s morning skate and will be in the lineup for Game 3. Gleason has no points, a minus-2 rating and five shots on goal in nine playoff games. Nate Schmidt will stick around in case anything happens before puck-drop, but he is expected to be sent back to Hershey (AHL) on Tuesday.
