Arvidsson was scratched right before game time Tuesday due to illness. He will return Thursday to try and build off his three points (1G/2A) and 11 SOG through his first six games to start the season.

Coyotes general manager Bill Armstrong confirmed Thursday that Jakob Chychrun has experienced a setback in his recovery from a wrist injury that has kept him out all season. Chychrun is coming off an injury-shortened 2021-22 where he had 21 points (7G/14A) in 57 games with 141 SOG and a -20 plus/minus.

Korpisalo will head to Cleveland (AHL) for a conditioning start vs. Syracuse Saturday. From there it is expected that the 28-year-old will head up to Columbus to back up Elvis Merzlikins. Through seven career seasons, he has 76 wins in 164 starts while posting a .902 SV% and 3.04 GAA.

Heiskanen will miss his second straight game with an upper-body injury. Heiskanen is listed as day-to-day, so consider him questionable for Saturday's game vs. the Rangers.

Johnson suffered a right ankle injury vs. the Panthers on Tuesday and will miss at least one week after landing on IR. The Blackhawks have not released a timetable for his return. Jujhar Khaira moved up into the Blackhawks' top-6 in Thursday's practice.

Yesterday the Bruins said that Marchand would not play the next two games, but Marchand will be in the lineup vs. Detroit on Thursday. The Bruins said he will not play in the back-to-back set, so he'll sit Friday in Columbus. Marchand will debut on a line with Patrice Bergeron and Jake DeBrusk.

John Tortorella announced Thursday that star centre Sean Couturier has unfortunately stopped skating as he is not ready to ramp up his workload yet. His timetable to return is still indefinite with him now not expected back anytime soon. The 29-year-old has 460 points (180G/280A) through his first 721 career games.

Jokiharju took a puck to the face in Calgary last Thursday and is week-to-week with a broken bone under his nose. Ilya Lyubushkin and Owen Power have taken on larger roles with both Jokiharju and Mattias Samuelsson out.

Samuelsson went down awkwardly in a collision with Curtis Lazar on Saturday and is expected to miss a few weeks. This is probably the best-case scenario because it looked like the injury may have been serious when it first happened. Owen Power and Ilya Lyubushkin have been skating with Rasmus Dahlin since Samuelsson got hurt.

Kravtsov will slot out of the lineup due to an upper-body injury as Julien Gauthier takes his spot for his first game of the season. Through three games in 2022-23, Kravtsov was yet to get a point while going +2 with no SOG.

Boqvist is expected to miss six weeks with a broken bone in his foot. He was yet to record a point in four games prior to the injury, collecting three SOG.

Clifford was placed on the injured reserve Wednesday with an undisclosed injury. In his two games with the Maple Leafs this season, he had an assist and two PIMs while playing 7:55 ATOI in his usual grinder role.

Sundqvist is day-to-day after playing through an issue in Detroits 6-2 loss to New Jersey Tuesday. Head coach Derek Lalonde said they are not sure if he will be able to make it back into the lineup Thursday. Sundqvist has five points (1G/4A) in his first six games played.

Marchand was initially expected to be back by late-November but it sounds like he will play in the next week or two, putting him way ahead of schedule. Marchand, who had 80 points (32G / 48A) in 70 games last season, is expected to skate on a line with Patrice Bergeron and Jake DeBrusk and on PP1 when he's healthy.

Tippett suffered an upper-body injury in the Flyers' season opener and missed the last five games. Tippett will replace James van Riemsdyk, who is out long-term with a hand injury that will require surgery. Tippett has four goals and three assists (seven points) in 22 games since being traded to the Flyers.

Ristolainen missed the first six games of the regular season but is set to make his season debut on Thursday. In his first season with the Flyers in 2021-22, Ristolainen had 16 points (2G / 14A), a minus-9 rating, 125 blocked shots and 230 hits in 66 games.

The Senators do not have a timeline for Norris' return but it's going to be long-term and they're not certain that he'll play again this season. Norris could require surgery but that decision won't be made for a few days. Derick Brassard filled in for Norris on Monday, but Shane Pinto could end up being the long-term solution with Alex DeBrincat and Claude Giroux.

Lazar was placed on the injured reserve Wednesday with an undisclosed injury. He is the fourth Canuck player to hit the IR this week. Through seven games in 2022-23, he has one goal and six shots while playing 14:51 ATOI centering the Canucks fourth line.

NHL Injury Report FAQs
The NHL injury report is updated daily so that you can see the latest injury news ahead of puck drop in any of today’s matchups. Seeing timely updates to the NHL injury report can make a major impact on your daily fantasy sports picks and wagers on a particular game. All information provided on the NHL injury report is provided directly by the NHL and each respective franchise to ensure accuracy.
While the minimum amount of time spent on the injured reserve list is seven calendar days, there is no maximum amount of time that a player can be placed on the injured reserve list. If a player is set to be sidelined for longer than 24 calendar days or 10 NHL games, then a club may opt to place them on the long-term injured reserve instead. This allows franchises with the ability to exceed the salary cap while a player is placed on this reserve list.
No injury recovery timeline is the same as another as there are several factors that go into the rehab process for a player being affected by injury. Factors include but are not limited to, injury severity, player injury/medical history, age, as well as the location of the injury. Some injuries are able to clear up in a matter of days, while others may take an athlete out of action for the entirety of a season.
