
NHL Scratches & Line Changes

Paul had one goal and three assists in three games with Belleville (AHL) before being recalled on Monday. Paul will draw-in on the Senators' fourth line with Jordan Szwarz and Scott Sabourin and has eight points (4G / 4A) in 56 career NHL games.

Weal appeared in each of the first six games of the season, posting one goal and one assist, but will be replaced by Nick Cousins (back) on Thursday.

Folin recorded on assist, two shots and a plus-2 rating while appearing in the last four games. On Thursday he will be replaced by rookie Cale Fleury, who will be playing in his third career NHL games.

Fleury has been a healthy scratch for the last four games but will replace Christian Folin in the lineup on Thursday. Fleury has no points and one shot in his first two career NHL games.

Kampfer made his season debut against the Ducks on Monday but Connor Clifton will draw back in to replace him on third-pair. This will likely be a common theme for Kampfer this season.

Clifton was a healthy scratch on Monday but will replace Steven Kampfer against the Lightning. Clifton has not registered a point while averaging 15:30 TOI/gm in five games this season.

Lindholm has been a healthy scratch for the last four games but will replace David Krejci (upper-body) in the lineup on Thursday. Lindholm will centre the third line with Danton Heinen and Karson Kuhlman on his wings.

The rookie defenseman has been a healthy scratch for the last three games but will be back in against the Islanders. Heinola is closing in on nine games played, which will force the Jets to keep him and burn the first year of his ELC or send him down and keep the ELC intact. So far, he has one goal on eight shots and two assists while playing 19:16 ATOI in five games.

Russell was a healthy scratch in the last two games but will replace Joakim Nygaard on Wednesday. Nygard is expected to miss 2-to-4 weeks, so Russell could get an extended look in the Oilers’ bottom-6. He has no points, two shots and a minus-1 rating in three games this season.

Despite not losing a game this season and Zadorov scoring his first goal on Monday, he will come out of the lineup on Wednesday. Zadorov will be replaced by Mark Barberio.

Barberio was a healthy scratch in Washington on Monday but will replace Nikita Zadorov on the blueline on Wednesday. Barberio has no points and four shots in 16:50 ATOI in two games this season.

Nichushkin has just one assist in his first five games with the Avalanche and will rest Wednesday in Pittsburgh. J.T. Compher is returning from a lower-body injury, replacing Nichushkin in their bottom-6.


Gaudette has appeared in the last three games, playing 11:30 ATOI with one assist, but is expected to be replaced by Tyler Motte on the fourth line on Tuesday.

Motte is expected to replace Adam Gaudette when the Canucks host the Red Wings on Tuesday. Motte had nine goals and seven assists (16 points) in 74 games with the Canucks last season. He will skate on the fourth line with Jay Beagle and Tim Schaller.

Capobianco will be replacing Niklas Hjalmarsson, who is expected to miss at least three months with a fractured leg. Capobianco has no points in his first three career NHL games but had seven goals and 25 assists (32 points) in 40 AHL games last season.

Stewart, who signed a one-year deal with the Flyers this morning, will replace Connor Bunnaman on the Flyers fourth line in Calgary. The last time that Stewart was in the NHL, he had one goal and two assists (three points) in seven games with Calgary.

Bunnaman has appeared in all three games this season but will come out of the lineup with Chris Stewart set to make his Flyers debut. Bunnaman has no points and just three shots while averaging 9:01 TOI/gm.

Rieder has been in the Flames lineup for the last five games, failing to record a point with two shots and a minus-4 rating. He will be replaced by Mark Jankowski, who draws back in after sitting as a healthy scratch on Sunday.
