Bjornfot was the Kings' first-round pick this summer and played in the first three games of the season but was a healthy scratch in the last four. It makes no sense to have an 18-year-old sitting in the press box, so they send him back to Ontario where he will log big minutes.

Prokhorkin was a fourth-round pick of the Kings in 2012 and seems ready to finally make his NHL debut this week. The 6-foot-1, 195 lbs. Russain forward almost made the team out of training camp but ultimately started the season in Ontario, where he had two assists in four games. Prokhorkin replaces Carl Grundstrom on the roster and will likely slot into the Kings' bottom-6.

Lagesson was a fourth-round pick in 2014 and has bounced all over North America and Sweden since then. The 6-foot-2, 207 lbs. defenseman played two years at UMass-Amherst before returning to his native country to play one year with Djurgardens IF and then came back to North America where he's been with the Condors. Lagesson had 27 points (8G / 19A) in 67 AHL games last year and has one assist in two games this season.

Gibbons did not have a point in two games with the Hurricanes and returns to the AHL, where he has one goal and three assists (four points) in four games.

Connauton did not appear in a game with the Avalanche during his call-up. With Ian Cole back from offseason hip surgery, Connauton was no longer needed as a reserve defenseman. He heads back to the Eagles, where he had no points, two PIMS and a minus-4 rating in two games.

Sautner split his 2018-19 campaign between the AHL and NHL. The 25-year-old defenseman had one assist in 17 NHL games and eight points (3G / 5A) in 31 games with Utica. He will likely serve as an extra defenseman as the Canucks get prepared to head out east on a road trip.

Welinski started the season on IR with a lower-body injury but was activated and waived on Monday. The 26-year-old had 19 points (8G / 11A) in 27 AHL games with San Diego (AHL) last year. Waiving Welinski and sending him down opened up the cap-space and roster spot for the Flyers to sign Chris Stewart.

Caamano appeared in all six games with the Stars during his call-up, scoring one goal on six shots while playing 11:00 ATOI. Caamano’s return to the AHL is a sign that Corey Perry will be back in the Stars lineup as soon as Wednesday.

L’Esperance had one goal on two shots while playing 7:20 ATOI in three games during his call-up. L’Esperance was a healthy scratch on Monday and his return to the AHL suggests that Corey Perry could be back on Wednesday.

Gibbons has one goal and three assists (four points) in four games with the Checkers this season. He has 67 points (25G / 42A) in 189 career NHL games with the Penguins, Blue Jackets, Devils, Ducks and Senators. He will likely make his Hurricanes debut on Tuesday.

Gauthier did not record a point while playing just 8:25 ATOI and returns to the AHL ahead of the Hurricanes California road-trip. Brian Gibbons was recalled to take his spot on the roster.

There were reports on Monday morning that Nicklas Hjalmarsson will miss approximately three months, so Capobianco has earned a call-up and could be in-line for an extended stay with the Coyotes. The former third-round pick had 32 points (7G / 25A) in 40 AHL games last year and has failed to record a point in his first three career NHL contests.

McIntyre has gone 2-0-0 while giving up just six goals on 62 shots (.903 SV%) in his first two starts of the AHL season. With Jacob Markstrom leaving the team for personal reasons, McIntyre comes up to serve as Thatcher Demko’s backup.

Lazar has picked up one assist in three games with Rochester and has been recalled to serve as an extra forward as the Sabres head out to California for a road-trip starting on Wednesday. The former first-round pick has 51 points (15G / 36A) in 246 career NHL games with the Senators and Flames.

Gravel has not registered a point in three games with the Marlies and will replace Rasmus Sandin on the Maple Leafs roster. He has 13 points (1G / 12A) in 106 career NHL games with the Kings and Oilers.

Sandin made the team after a tremendous training camp and collected two assists and five shots in 12:13 ATOI in his first six NHL games. Sandin heads to the AHL to get more playing time and will be replaced by Kevin Gravel on the Maple Leafs roster.
