Colorado Avalanche goaltender Scott Wedgewood has been added to the Canadian National Team’s list of possible participants for the 2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics, according to TSN hockey insider Darren Dreger.

His TSN colleague Pierre LeBrun confirmed the report, saying he was added on Monday.

Wedgewood, 33, is 13-1-2 with a .918 save percentage (SV%) and 2.09 goals against average (GAA) through 17 games with the Avalanche in 2025-26.

Almost one year to the day, Colorado acquired Wedgewood in a trade with the Nashville Predators on Nov. 30, 2024, in exchange for Justus Annunen and a 2025 sixth-round draft pick. In 36 regular-season games with the Avs, he’s posted a 26-5-3 record with a .918 SV% and 2.04 GAA.

Earlier this month, Colorado signed Wedgewood to a one-year, $2.5-million contract extension that will keep him through the 2026-27 season.

In 171 career NHL games, the Brampton, Ont. native has a 75-55-26 record with a .907 SV% and 2.80 GAA with the Avalanche, Predators, Dallas StarsArizona Coyotes and New Jersey Devils.

He has also made four playoff appearances, all in relief, posting an .862 SV% and 2.28 GAA.

Wedgewood has spent the majority of his professional career in the American Hockey League, where he posted a 94-59-24 record with a .906 SV% and 2.54 GAA in 191 career games with the Albany Devils, Adirondack Thunder, Binghamton Devils, Ontario Reign, Rochester Americans, Syracuse Crunch and Texas Stars.

He also spent parts of four seasons playing junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey League with the Plymouth Whalers, going 61-39-5 with a .908 SV% and 3.08 GAA in 122 career games.

Internationally, Wedgewood represented Canada at the 2012 World Junior Championships. He went 2-0-0 with a .915 SV% and 2.42 GAA in three appearances.

The Avalanche are 16-1-5 with 37 points through their first 22 games of the 2025-26 season, which puts them first in the Central Division, Western Conference and the entire league.
