After leading the Vegas Golden Knights to a berth in the league semifinals, goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury sits as the betting favorite at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com on the odds to win the Conn Smythe Trophy this spring.
Fleury has posted an 8-4 record with a 1.91 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage so far in the playoffs, getting the nod between the pipes for all but one of Vegas’ games through the first two rounds. And with the Golden Knights now the favorites on the updated Stanley Cup odds, Fleury is set as +175 chalk to claim Conn Smythe honors.
Four other members of the Golden Knights have spots on the Conn Smythe board heading into the third round of the playoffs, with Mark Stone at +600, Max Pacioretty at +1500, Reilly Smith at +3300, and Shea Theodore at +8000. William Karlsson (team-high 11 points) and Jonathan Marchessault (team-high six goals) could end up in the conversation as well.
Another goaltender sits second on the Conn Smythe Trophy odds, with the Tampa Bay Lightning’s Andrei Vasilevskiy at +200 on that betting prop. Vasilevskiy is 8-3 for the Lightning so far in the playoffs with a 2.24 GAA and a .934 save percentage, and he recorded a shutout in the clinching game of each of the team’s first two series of this year’s playoffs.
Vasilevskiy’s Tampa Bay teammate Nikita Kucherov, who leads the playoffs in scoring with 18 points, is set at +600 on the board, with Brayden Point at +1200, and both Victor Hedman and Steven Stamkos at +3300. Hedman was the winner of the Conn Smythe Trophy last season.
The Montreal Canadiens will face the Golden Knights in the third round of the playoffs, and Habs netminder Carey Price sits at +1500 on the Conn Smythe Trophy odds after going 8-3 with a 1.97 GAA and a .935 save percentage in the first two rounds of the playoffs. Nick Suzuki (+3300) and Tyler Toffoli (+3500) have been Montreal’s top forwards this postseason.
And the New York Islanders will face the Lightning in the league semifinals again this season, with forwards Matthew Barzal (+2700) and Brock Nelson (+3500) their top two options on the Conn Smythe betting lines heading into the series which gets underway Sunday afternoon.
