One of the greatest players in hockey history has reached a significant milestone.

On Thursday, USA forward Hilary Knight scored the 15th goal and 33rd point of her Olympic career, making her the all-time points leader in U.S. women’s history at the Winter Games.

The record-breaking point came in the gold medal game against Canada. It came in a huge moment, as she tipped in a Laila Edwards point shot to tie the game with just over two minutes to go in regulation.

The Idaho native surpassed Hockey Hall of Famer Jenny Potter, who posted 32 points across four Olympics, as well as passing Natalie Darwitz and Katie King, who had 14 goals in their Olympic careers.

Knight and Potter are two of four Americans who have posted 20 points in their Olympic careers. Natalie Darwitz (25) and Kathryn King (23) are the other two.

It was Knight’s sixth point of the tournament. She now sits third all-time in women’s Olympic scoring behind Canadians Hayley Wickenheiser and Marie-Philip Poulin. Captain America made it known that the Milano-Cortina Games will be her last on the Olympic stage. This is her fourth endeavor playing for her country at the Winter Olympiad. Since making her debut in Vancouver in 2010, she has been not only a key player for her team but a leader on and off the ice.

In her first four Olympic appearances, Knight has three silver medals, including a memorable gold medal in PyeongChang in 2018. Her six-point performance in Sochi in 2014 led to her being named to the tournament all-star team. While she’s off to a strong performance in Milan, Knight still has some work to do to catch her career-best performance at the Olympics, when she scored 10 points in seven games four years ago in Beijing.

On top of her Olympic resume, Knight is the most decorated player at the IIHF Women’s World Championship. She has won the gold medal 10 times, with another five silver medals to her name. She leads the Women’s Worlds with 120 points all-time.
