Maple Leafs’ Bobby McMann leaves game vs. Red Wings with lower-body injury
The Toronto Maple Leafs announced that forward Bobby McMann left Saturday’s game against the Detroit Red Wings with a lower-body injury and will not return.

The 27-year-old McMann played his last shift in the second period, getting tangled up along the boards and falling awkwardly before skating gingerly to the bench. He would go to the locker room and would not return.

McMann has 15 goals and nine assists for 24 points in 56 games with the Maple Leafs this season. Last month, McMann signed a two-year, $2.7 million extension that will keep him with Toronto through the 2025-26 season.

Before turning pro, McMann played in the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) with the Bonnyville Pontiacs, during his final season he notched 36 goals and 68 points in 47 games. McMann then made the jump to the NCAA with Colgate University and served as captain during the 2019-20 season.
During the 2018-19 campaign, McMann was named to the NCAA ECAC Third All-Star Team after registering 23 points in 36 games. Through his four years at Colgate, he tallied 92 points in 145 career games.
