On the eve of the Minnesota Wild’s final game of the 2023-24 regular season, Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli is reporting that the club has re-signed goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury to a one-year, $2.5 million contract.

Fleury had a record of 17-14-5 with an .895 SV% and a 2.98 GAA. In three seasons with the Wild, Fleury has a record of 50-32-9 with a .903 SV% and 2.89 GAA.

In 20 NHL seasons, Fleury has appeared in 1024 contests, compiling a record of 561-329-96 with a .912 SV% and a 2.60 GAA with the Wild, Chicago Blackhawks, Vegas Golden Knights and Pittsburgh Penguins.

Taken No. 1 overall in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Fleury has compiled one of the most accomplished careers for a goaltender in league history. The native of Sorel, Que. won three Stanley Cup championships with the Penguins in 2009, 2016 and 2017.

In his 17th NHL season at age 37, he had a 26-10-0 record with a .928 SV% and 1.98 GAA, earning both his first ever William M. Jennings Trophy and his first ever Veznia Trophy.

Fleury, who turns 40 next November, climbed to the No. 2 spot on the NHL’s all-time wins list. With 21 more games, he can pass both Patrick Roy and Roberto Luongo for second all-time in games played by a goaltender.

The 2023-24 season was a struggle for the Wild, who with one game to go have a record of 39-32-10 with 87 points, sixth in the Central Division and 10 points behind the No. 2 Wild Card team, the Los Angeles Kings.
