The Nashville Predators placed forward Samuel Fagemo on waivers on Friday, TSN’s Chris Johnston reported.

Fagemo has one goal in four games with the Predators this season. The 23-year-old winger was a healthy scratch for the Predators’ first five games and nine of Nashville’s 13 total games, playing less than 10 minutes of ice time in three of his four appearances.

He scored his lone goal in the first period of his first game with the Predators, but has been held off the scoresheet since.

Last month, Fagemo was claimed by the Predators after being placed on waivers by the Los Angeles Kings.

Fagemo spent most of the 2022-23 season with the AHL’s Ontario Reign. In 56 games, he scored 23 goals, nine assists for 32 points.

Over three seasons in the minors, he’s scored 60 goals, 34 assists for 94 points in 151 games. In 17 career NHL games, Fagemo has scored three goals and one assist for four points.

Fagemo was drafted in the second round by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.

It’s been a tough start to the 2023-24 season for the Predators. After finishing October with a lukewarm 4-5-0 record, Nashville is 1-3-0 to start November, most recently losing 6-3 to the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday.

Forward Filip Forsberg leads the team in scoring with 14 points, including 10 assists, while offseason signing Ryan O’Reilly has recorded seven goals and four assists for 11 points.

The Predators went into the 2023-24 season with new but familiar faces, hiring Barry Trotz as general manager and Andrew Brunette as head coach. Trotz was Nashville’s first head coach, serving from 1997 to 2014. He replaced David Poile as GM, who served between 1997 and 2023. Brunette, who scored the Predators’ first ever goal in their inaugural 1998-99 season, was hired as head coach in May.
