In 55 games played this season, Pageau has 14 goals and 15 assists for 29 points.
Pageau was initially selected by his hometown Ottawa Senators in the fourth round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. He spent the first six-plus seasons of his NHL career with the Senators, where in 2015-16 he had a career-best campaign with 19 goals and 24 assists for 43 points in 82 games. He was a key part of Ottawa’s surprise run to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2017.
At the trade deadline of the 2019-20 season, Ottawa moved Pageau to the Islanders for multiple draft picks.
Pageau is now in his sixth full season in New York, and has maintained his solid, two-way game throughout. Over 424 total games with the Islanders, Pageau has compiled 86 goals and 127 assists for total 213 points. As an 82-game average, that production comes out to approximately 16.5 goals and 24.5 assists for 41 points.
The Islanders haven’t been idle on the trade front, either, as they acquired center Brayden Schenn from the St. Louis Blues on Friday for a pair of picks and a pair of prospects.
With 75 points through 63 games, New York sits third in the Metropolitan Division, and are looking to secure a spot back in the Eastern Conference playoffs after missing the postseason last year.
The Islanders will visit the San Jose Sharks on Saturday, and then wrap up a four-game road trip against the Blues on Tuesday.
