NHL Best Player Prop Bets for Today (Jan. 19): Shots, Goals, Points & Saves

Today’s NHL slate features 10 games, offering a healthy mix of depth and opportunity across the player prop board. Using the 5v5hockey.com Premium Betting Model we’ve identified the top player prop bets for Monday by focusing on shots, goals, points, and saves where projected fair value exceeds current market pricing.

Below, you’ll find the model’s top player prop bets of the day, with each pick supported by data-driven projections, usage trends, and matchup context to help isolate value on a moderately sized slate.

Sunday’s Results:

  • ❌ Shot Prop: Thomas Chabot Over 1.5 SOG (-125)
  • ✅ Goal Prop: Alex DeBrincat Over 0.5 Goals (+133)
  • ✅ Point Prop:James van Riemsdyk Over 0.5 Points (-115)

Shot Prop Parlay: Brent Burns Over 1.5 SOG + Mikael Granlund Over 1.5 SOG (+126)

There weren’t many individual shot props with reasonable odds standing out on the model, so let’s go with a mini shot parlay tonight.

Burns has seen a significant increase in usage since Devon Toews went down, averaging 20:53 TOI per game over his last six outings. A high-volume shooter throughout his career, Burns has continued to fire pucks at a strong rate in Colorado. He’s recorded 2+ SOG in nine straight games, averaging 3.2 SOG and 6.0 shot attempts per game during that stretch. At -196, he should have no trouble taking care of the first leg.

Granlund’s role has expanded as well. With Leo Carlsson sidelined, he’s averaged over 22 minutes per game and has posted 2+ SOG in five straight contests while matching Burns with 3.2 SOG and 6.0 shot attempts per game. Dating back to mid-December, Granlund has hit this mark in 12 of his last 15 games (80.0% or -400). Getting the second leg at -202 offers value against a struggling Rangers team that has allowed the fourth-most shot attempts and 10th-most shots on goal over their last 10 games.

Point Prop: Shea Theodore Over 0.5 Points (+105)

Theodore has recorded at least one point in nine of his last 11 games (81.8% or -450) and draws an excellent matchup tonight as the Golden Knights host the Flyers. Philadelphia could once again be without Dan Vladar, and goaltending has been a major issue for them recently.

The Flyers have allowed at least five goals in five straight games, surrendering an average of 5.8 goals per game during that stretch. Meanwhile, Vegas has been rolling offensively, averaging 5.1 goals per game over its last seven outings. With the Golden Knights expected to generate plenty of offence in this spot, Theodore at plus money offers strong value to pick up a point.

Goal Prop: Mark Stone Over 0.5 Goals (+146)

The same factors that make Theodore appealing in the point market apply here as well. Stone has been on an incredible run, scoring in three straight games and in 10 of his last 11 outings (90.9% or -1000). If you’re looking for a larger sample, he’s also found the back of the net in 14 of his last 18 games (77.8% or -351).

Stone ranks second in the NHL in goals since Christmas and now gets a prime matchup against a Flyers team that has posted the worst save percentage in the league (.823) over that same stretch. With Philadelphia continuing to struggle in net, getting Stone at +146 to score again tonight offers excellent value.

Save Prop: Joseph Woll Over 24.5 Saves (-125)

Shot volume should not be an issue for Woll tonight. The Maple Leafs have allowed the most shot attempts and the second-most shots on goal in the NHL over their last 10 games, creating a favorable environment for save totals.

Woll has cleared this number in four straight games and in eight of his last 10 starts, consistently seeing enough workload to push past 25 saves. While Minnesota is dealing with several injuries, that hasn’t limited their shot generation. The Wild still registered 35 SOG in Buffalo on Saturday, making this another strong volume-driven spot for Woll to go over his save total.
