Flyers officially sign Nolan Foote to one-year, two-way contract

The Philadelphia Flyers announced Wednesday that the team has officially agreed to terms with forward Nolan Foote on a one-year, two-way contract worth $850,000.

Reports of the contract were out there as early as July 3rd, but the Flyers waited until now to officially confirm it.

The 25-year-old spent the 2025-26 campaign with the Florida Panthers and their AHL affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers. In 12 NHL games, he had one goal, while in 54 AHL games, he had 14 goals and 18 assists for 32 points.

Across six NHL seasons, Foote has seven goals and three assists for 10 points in 42 career regular-season games with the Panthers and New Jersey Devils.

In seven AHL campaigns, the Denver, Colo., native has posted 76 goals and 85 assists for 161 points in 245 regular-season games. He`s also recorded two goals and three assists for five points in nine Calder Cup Playoff games.

Taken No. 27 overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, Foote was traded to the Devils, along with a 2020 first-round pick, in exchange for Blake Coleman.

Foote played his junior hockey in the Western Hockey League, where he dressed for 195 regular-season games with the Kelowna Rockets. He scored 83 goals and 88 assists for 171 points. He also appeared in 21 WHL playoff games, where he recorded three goals and seven assists for 10 points.

He reached career highs with the Rockets in 2018-19, where he scored 36 goals and added 27 assists for 63 points in 66 games.

Internationally, Foote won a gold medal with Canada at the 2020 World Junior Championship, as well as a gold medal at the Under-18 tournament in 2017.

The Flyers went 43-27-12 with 98 points in 2025-26, where they finished third in the Metropolitan Division and 11th in the NHL standings.
