Senators’ Chabot out for at least another 10 days; Zub, Eller out day-to-day

Not the best injury update in the nation’s capital.
When speaking to the media on Thursday, Ottawa Senators head coach Travis Green stated that defenseman Thomas Chabot is still out of action, with Green saying that it’s “hopefully another 10 days.” Chabot apparently re-aggravated the injury that has kept him on the shelf for close to a month.
Eller and Zub are out. Meriläinen to start. Zub a lower body injury. Eller is day to day. Chabot is another “hopefully another 10 days.” Green says he re-aggrivated his injury.
— Coming In Hot (@ComingInHotSens) December 4, 2025Green also revealed that defenseman Artem Zub is out with a lower-body injury. He and forward Lars Eller are day-to-day and will not be in the lineup when the Senators host the New York Rangers on Thursday night.
Chabot has been on injured reserve for the past week, and hasn’t played since suffering an upper-body injury against the Dallas Stars on Nov. 11. The Sainte-Marie, Que. native had appeared in the Sens’ first 16 games of the 2025-26 season, scoring two goals and eight assists for 10 points. He has a plus/minus of +5 while averaging 21:55 of ice time.
The Senators have been hanging on during his absence. In the nine games since Chabot was hurt, the team has gone 5-4-0, grabbing a key divisional win over the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday.
Eller and Zub have both played in each of Ottawa’s first 26 games this season, including in the 5-2 victory over the Habs. Eller registered just 10:49 of ice time across 16 shifts, but was on the ice for the final minute of regulation. The 36-year-old has posted two goals and four assists for six points, with a -5 rating while averaging 13:25 of ice time.
Zub also played the entire game on Tuesday, sitting second to Jake Sanderson in ice time, registering a TOI of 24:02. He scored his third goal of the season in the second period against Montreal. The Russian rearguard has posted three goals and eight assists for 11 points, with a +5 rating and an average ice time of 20:10.
The Senators (14-9-3) sit second in the Atlantic Division, three points back of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
