The San Jose Sharks announced Tuesday they signed forward Colin White to a one-year contract.

TVA Sports reporter Renaud Lavoie confirmed White will make $775,000 with the Sharks and a guaranteed $475,000 with their AHL affiliate, the San Jose Barracuda.

The 28-year-old White spent most of the 2024-25 season with the Barracuda, scoring 12 goals and 13 assists for 25 points in 48 regular-season games. In the playoffs, he recorded a goal and five assists for six points.

In 323 career NHL regular-season games, White has 44 goals and 69 assists for 113 points with the Sharks, Montreal Canadiens, Pittsburgh Penguins, Florida Panthers and Ottawa Senators.

Internationally, White represented the U.S. at the World Junior Championships in 2016 and 2017, winning bronze and gold, respectively. He also won a bronze at the 2018 World Championships and gold at the World Under-18 Championship.

The Sharks finished the 2024-25 season with a 20-50-12 record and 52 points, last in the Pacific Division, the Western Conference and the entire NHL.

Macklin Celebrini, the Sharks’ No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, led the team in points with 63, scoring 25 goals and 38 assists in just 70 regular-season games. William Eklund, who earlier in the day signed a three-year contract extension with an annual average value (AAV) of $5.6 million, had 17 goals and 38 assists for 63 points.

The Sharks selected Michael Misa from the OHL’s Saginaw Spirit with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. In 65 games, Lisa scored 62 goals and 72 assists for 134 points. He became the second-fastest OHL player to score 50 goals in 50 games, just behind Patrick Kane during his 2006-07 season with the London Knights.
