Snoop Dogg to be part of U.S. vs. Sweden Olympic quarterfinal game alternative broadcast

It’s Snoop D-O-double-G time.

If you’ve followed the 2026 Winter Olympic Games closely in Milan, Italy, you’ve probably seen Snoop Dogg hanging around. And now, you’re about to hear him talk some hockey.

The social media account for NBC Sports PR shared an image talking about Snoop Dogg leading a “unique third-period alternate presentation” during Peacock’s broadcast of the United States vs. Sweden Olympic men’s hockey quarterfinal on Wednesday. No other details were delivered, but it’s definitely unique.

Snoop Dogg was a torchbearer for both the 2024 and 2026 Olympic Games. At this point, he’s synonymous with the event, despite not being an athlete himself. He has been seen visiting American athletes throughout the Olympics, and even hung out with some of the team’s top stars while serving as an “honorary coach” with Team USA.

Snoop has served as a special correspondent throughout the Games, serving insight as only Snoop Dogg could with his charm and good vibes.

Snoop is no stranger to the sport of hockey – he’s been seen plenty of times at major events, such as the 2017 All-Star Game. He’s been seen wearing jerseys in videos and has attended his fair share of games. At one point, he even tried to buy the Ottawa Senators in 2023. On the commentary side, Snoop acted as a guest commentator for EA Sports’ NHL 20, appearing at random times to give short quips alongside lead commentator James Cybulski.

The 3-0-0-0 American squad will take on the 2-0-1-0 Swedish team on Feb. 18 at 3:10 PM ET. The Americans finished the round-robin in second place behind Canada. The United States last won gold at the Winter Olympics in 1980, 18 years before NHLers were permitted to compete. The team has won silver twice in the NHL era, first in 2002 and again in 2010.
