A couple of Columbus Blue Jackets players have hit the waiver wire.

On Wednesday, the Blue Jackets placed forward Danton Heinen and defenseman Emil Andrae on waivers.

Both players are available to be claimed by any of the other 31 NHL teams. If they clear waivers, they’ll be eligible to be assigned to the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Heinen, 31, has gone scoreless in 10 games played for Columbus this season. The Blue Jackets acquired him, along with second- and third-round draft picks, from the Pittsburgh Penguins in December of last season in exchange for forward Egor Chinakhov. In 33 games for the Blue Jackets last season following the trade, he had five goals and five assists for 10 points.

Selected by the Boston Bruins in the fourth round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, the Langley, British Columbia native has played for five different franchises over 11 NHL seasons. His career-best campaign came in his first full-time NHL season with Boston in 2017-18, when he registered 16 goals and 31 assists for 47 points in 77 games.

Heinen is currently on a one-year, $1 million deal with Columbus.

Andrae, 24, has no goals and two assists in five games for the Blue Jackets this season, while averaging about 10 and a half minutes of ice time. Columbus acquired him just before the season as part of the deal that sent forward Kirill Marchenko to the Toronto Maple Leafs and forward Matthew Knies to the Blue Jackets. He is in the first season of a two-year, $3.1 million contract.

The Swedish national was acquired by Toronto over the offseason in the deal that sent goaltender Joseph Woll to the Philadephia Flyers.

In 61 games for the Flyers last season, Andrae put up two goals and 11 assists for 13 points while averaging just under 15 and a half minutes of ice time.
