Report: Mammoth sign Cameron Hebig to two-year contract

The Utah Mammoth have signed journeyman center Cameron Hebig to a two-year, two-way contract, according to PuckPedia.
Through 67 games last season with the AHL’s Tucson Roadrunners, the Mammoth’s top minor-league affiliate, Hebig collected 26 goals and 21 assists for 47 points to rank second in team scoring. With it, Hebig also registered 34 penalty minutes and a plus-six rating. Hebig then added one more point through three postseason appearances.
A graduate of the Canadian junior circuit, Hebig spent four seasons with the WHL’s Saskatoon Blades and Regina Pats from 2013-18. In his final season, split between the two squads, the 28-year-old Saskatoon, Sask., native collected a career-high 90 points counting 41 goals and 49 assists coming in 66 games. In all, through 264 career contests in the WHL, Hebig put up 98 goals and 127 assists for 225 points. Of note, in 2018, Hebig helped the Pats advance to the Championship Final of the year-end Memorial Cup tournament, where he put up four goals and two assists for six points in five games.
In 2017, Hebig signed with the Edmonton Oilers as an undrafted free agent. He then joined the former Arizona Coyotes in 2023, beginning on a professional tryout basis.
While Hebig has yet to make his NHL debut, he has spent part of seven seasons in the AHL where through 384 career contests he has notched 77 goals and 92 assists for 169 points. Last season’s 47-point effort marked a career best, topping his previous high of 32 points from the prior campaign. Hebig’s pro career also counts part of two seasons with the ECHL’s Wichita Thunder and Florida Everblades where through 33 total appearances he registered 11 goals and 23 assists for 34 points.
Hebig is the second signing by the Mammoth in as many days as on Tuesday the club agreed to terms with veteran forward Michael Carcone.
