With about a month left in the regular season, many teams are establishing themselves as potential threats not just to make the playoffs, but make a run to the Stanley Cup Finals.

While there are a few favorites in the Eastern Conference, many wonder who the powerhouse team is out West.

Many continue to argue, despite the team’s recent slide, that the Vegas Golden Knights are the team to beat. The reigning Stanley Cup Champions went out and bought big time at the trade deadline and will have reinforcements back by the time the playoffs begin. However, there are the Central and Pacific Division leaders, the Dallas Stars and Vancouver Canucks, who have done their part to prove they are for real.

Lost in the shuffle are teams like the Edmonton Oilers and Colorado Avalanche who are loaded with talent.

On Tuesday’s edition of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Colby Cohen and Tyler Yaremchuk give their two cents on who they think is the top dog in the Western Conference.

Colby Cohen: I had to put Vegas up at the top. I know they haven’t played well lately—they’re 3-6-1 in their last 10—but they’re going to get Tomas Hertl into that lineup eventually. Noah Hanifin will settle into his role. Jack Eichel, who missed considerable time, will continue to find his game, and I just think, once you bring that whole team together, I think the Vegas Golden Knights sit at the top.

Tyler Yaremchuk: Dallas went out and only made one deadline move, going and getting Chris Tanev, it was the only deadline move they needed. What Tanev does for that blueline, the way [Thomas] Harley and [Miro] Heiskanen have looked as a top pairing, now you have Tanev and [Esa] Lindell as this true shutdown second pair. They also have the goaltending box checked for me with Jake Oettinger.
