Tony DeAngelo will be a game-time decision Thursday vs. Tampa Bay.

DeAngelo was a game-time decision but missed Tuesday's game vs. the Islanders due to a lower-body injury. The 27-year-old has had an up-and-down first season in Philadelphia with three goals, seven assists, 48 SOG and a -12 plus/minus through 22 games and will hope to be healthy enough to draw back into the lineup vs. the Lightning.

The Rangers have placed Anthony DeAngelo on unconditional waivers for purpose of buying out his contract.

DeAngelo's future with the Rangers ended after a reported physical altercation with Alexandar Georgiev in January. He was officially bought out on Saturday and will save the Rangers $4.4M in 2021-22 but cost them $883K in 2022-23.

DeAngelo will be a healthy scratch on Saturday.

DeAngelo had a tough game on Thursday and took undisciplined penalties so he will sit in the second game of the season but head coach David Quinn said “he’ll be back in the lineup soon.” Brendan Smith will replace DeAngelo on the Rangers’ blueline and Adam Fox will be on PP1.

DeAngelo (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision for Game 1.

DeAngelo missed Friday's practice and head coach David Quinn has listed him as a game-time decision for Saturday's series opener. If DeAngelo can't play, look for Adam Fox or Jacob Trouba to move to the top power-play unit.
