The Rangers signed Tony DeAngelo to a one-year deal worth $925K.

DeAngelo emerged as a key part of the Rangers future in 2019, recording 30 points (4G / 26A) in 61 games. The coaching staff was reluctant to use DeAngelo on a nightly basis, scratching him with some regularity, but that should change in 2020. The additions of Jacob Trouba and Adam Fox adds to the competition DeAngelo has for playing time at both 5v5 and on the man-advantage.

DeAngelo will miss 3-4 weeks with a sprained ankle.

DeAngelo was forced to leave Monday’s game vs. the Hurricanes with what ended up being a sprained ankle. DeAngelo’s 3-4 week timetable effectively ends his 2017-18 season with eight assists and a minus-18 rating in 32 games. Ryan Sproul was recalled from Hartford (AHL) and he is expected to replace DeAngelo on Wednesday.

The Rangers have recalled Anthony DeAngelo from Hartford (AHL).

DeAngelo has picked up 13 points (2G / 11A) in 29 games with Hartford this season and returns to the Rangers where he had one assist in eight games earlier this year. DeAngelo’s call-up suggests he replace with Steven Kampfer or Brendan Smith in Saturday’s lineup while Marc Staal works back from a hip flexor injury.

The Coyotes have recalled Anthony DeAngelo from Tucson (AHL).

DeAngelo, 21, was acquired from Tampa Bay this summer and has had a great start to the year with Tucson, posting seven points (1G / 6A) in eight games. The former first round pick (19th overall in 2014) has never appeared in an NHL game, but could make his NHL debut this week.
