
With James Reimer back to full health, the Maple Leafs have sent Bibeau back to the Marlies because they don’t need to carry three goaltenders.
Bibeau, 21, has gone 6-3-0 with a 3.64 GAA and .869 SV% in 10 games with the Marlies this season. With James Reimer day-to-day with an injury and Jonathan Bernier in the minors on a conditioning stint, Bibeau has been recalled to serve as Garret Sparks backup for at least Saturday’s game.
Bibeau did not play during his five-game call up and with Jonathan Bernier coming off of IR, they have returned Bibeau to the Marlies.
Bibeau, 21, has gone 5-1-0 with a 2.17 GAA and .908 SV% in six games with the Marlies. Bibeau has been recalled because Jonathan Bernier is dealing with an undisclosed injury. Bibeau will likely serve as James Reimer’s backup on Wednesday.
Bibeau was recalled to be James Reimer’s backup on Saturday vs. the Oilers. Jonathan Bernier should be healthy enough to return on Tuesday vs. the Rangers, so Bibeau’s services are no longer needed.
This morning the Maple Leafs announced that Jonathan Bernier would start and James Reimer appeared to be fine in the morning skate, so something is up. Bibeau is likely here to serve as Bernier’s backup, but nothing is confirmed at this point. Bibeau is 8-7-5 with a 2.58 GAA and .917 SV% with the Marlies.
