In his first season in Tampa Bay, Stralman averaged 2:28 PP/TOI per game, which was way up from the 0:45 PP/TOI he averaged in three years with New York—the increased playing time resulted in 14 PPP (2G / 12A) after he had just four PPP in the previous three seasons. Stralman is once again working with the first PP-unit to start the 2015-16 season, so it looks like the Lightning plan to use him in the same way as last year. He had a career high 39 points (9G / 30A) a season ago.

It appears as if the Columbus Blue Jackets did indeed trade for Jordan Leopold in part because of injury issues: Fedor Tyutin is headed to injured reserve and is expected to miss four-to-six weeks, the Columbus Dispatch’s Shawn Mitchell reports. Tyutin appeared to hurt his left knee (officially a “lower-body injury”) in a collision with Philadelphia Flyers forward Jakub Voracek. The 31-year-old has two assists in 16 games so far in 2014-15. He’s seen a drop in ice time lately; after averaging more than 24 minutes per contest in both 2011-12 and 2012-13, he slipped to 21:25 last season and is averaging 20:18 per night so far this year.

There is no word when Tyutin suffered the injury, but it was likely during the Blue Jackets loss to the Lightning on Saturday. With no idea what the injury is, it is impossible to say what might happen, so for now consider him questionable and monitor his status during tomorrow’s morning skate.
