Carlo has not played since November 13th due to a lower-body injury. He was seemingly nearing his return, but suffered a setback and ultimately underwent foot surgery on December 3rd. The 29-year-old defenseman was averaging 20:04 time-on-ice and scored two assists in 18 games before his injury.

Carlo is expected to make his Maple Leafs’ debut on Saturday vs. Colorado.

The Maple Leafs acquired Carlo in a trade with the Boston Bruins before the trade deadline on Friday. Carlo is expected to make his Toronto debut on Saturday against the Colorado Avalanche. He averaged 18:48 time-on-ice and scored nine points (1G / 8A) in 63 games with Boston this season.

Carlo missed Boston's morning skate due to the birth of his second child but is expected to be a game-time decision for Game 1 on Monday in Florida as he attempts to get to the team for game time. If Carlo is unable to go, Derek Forbort is expected to replace him according to this morning's line rushes. The 27-year-old had a strong opening series vs. Toronto, with a goal, two points and a +2 plus/minus.

Carlo will miss the final game of the season for Boston due to maintenance but is expected back for Game 1 of the playoffs. The 27-year-old's season comes to an end with his lowest point totals since 2020-21, with his four goals, 14 points, 79 SOG, 42 PIMs and +23 plus/minus through 76 games played.

Carlo has missed the last four games due to an upper-body injury but could return to the lineup on Thursday against the Colorado Avalanche. Carlo registered one assist and a plus-1 rating in 11:50 TOI before leaving January 8th's contest against the Colorado Avalanche.
