The Sabres have signed Brandon Davidson to a one-year deal worth $700K.
Davidson was one of a few depth defensemen that the Sabres added on Friday. The 29-year-old played 12 NHL games with the Flames and Sharks in 2020, failing to record a point. Look for him to play for the Rochester Americans (AHL) in 2021.
The Sharks have acquired Brandon Davidson from the Flames for future considerations.
Davidson has split his campaign between the NHL and AHL, picking up 20 points (3G / 17A) in 34 games with Stockton. During his time in the NHL he had no points in seven games, giving him just 23 points (9G / 14A) in 169 career games with the Oilers, Canadiens, Islanders, Blackhawks and Flames. Now he heads to his sixth team where it's unclear whether he'll report to the NHL or AHL.

Davidson played for the Canadiens, Oilers and Islanders last year, compiling four goals and three assists (seven points) in 51 games. Davidson might be in the Blackhawks’ top-6, beating out Brandon Manning.
Davidson (undisclosed) will be back in the Islanders lineup on Saturday.

Davidson is on his third team of the season and has picked up three goals and two assists in 36 games with the Oilers and Canadiens. He was acquired from Edmonton before the deadline and will replace Sebastian Aho in Montreal as he draws in vs. his former team.
The Oilers have traded Davidson to the Islanders in exchange for a 2019 third-round draft pick.
