Davidson will be back in the Canadiens' lineup on Tuesday.

Davidson has been out of the lineup for the last two games, but will replace Nathan Beaulieu in the lineup tonight vs. the Blackhawks. Davidson had two shots and a minus-1 rating in his Canadiens debut last Tuesday and has just one assist in 29 games this season.

The Oilers have signed Brandon Davidson to a two-year deal worth $2.85 million.

Davidson, 24, has picked up 10 points (4G /6A) in 47 games with the Oilers this season after picking up just one goal in his first 12 NHL games last season. Davidson was set to become a restricted free agent at the end of this season but will now be with the Oilers through the 2017-18 season.

Davidson (undisclosed) is not expected to play on Monday.

Davidson was the victim of a hard cross-check in Saturday’s loss in Colorado and it will force him to sit out the Oilers final game before the Christmas break. With Davidson out, the Oilers recalled Mark Fayne, who will play on Monday. Davidson will be reevaluated after the break.

The Oilers have recalled Brandon Davidson from Oklahoma City (AHL).

Davidson, 23, was the Oilers sixth round pick (162nd overall) in 2010. The former Regina Pats defenseman has one goal and two assists in 14 games with OKC this season. He is a great story, the young defenseman beat testicular cancer in 2012 and has now reached the NHL.
