van Riemsdyk suffered a shoulder injury in Game 2 vs. the Islanders and will miss the rest of the year after undergoing surgery. Haydn Fleury has replaced van Riemsdyk on the back-end and Jake Bean has been recalled as a reserve defenseman heading into the Eastern Conference Finals.

van Riemsdyk was hurt early in Game 2 and is out long-term with a shoulder issue. van Riemsdyk will undergo an MRI to determine the severity of the injury but head coach Rod Brind’Amour doesn’t expect to see van Riemsdyk back anytime soon.

Davidson recently cleared waivers but could remain with the Blackhawks after they traded Brandon Manning. Davidson has one assist and a minus-4 rating in seven games this season.


Davidson missed Wednesday’s game and will miss at least two more games after being placed on IR. Gustav Forsling will remain in the Blackhawks lineup on Frida with Davidson sidelined.

Davidson will be replaced by Gustav Forsling, who was recalled from Rockford on Tuesday. Davidson is listed as day-to-day.

Davidson has played in five of the last seven games, but is questionable to play on Wednesday. Gustav Forsling has been called up from Rockford (AHL) and could replace him in the lineup.

van Riemsdyk was scratched in favour of Haydn Fleury on Saturday, but will replace Brett Pesce (lower-body) tonight. van Riemsdyk was a minus-3 in 14:42 TOI against his former team last Thursday and has just three assists and 19 shots in 14 games this season.

van Riemsdyk had five shots on goal and a minus-1 rating while averaging 16:53 TOI/GM in the first three games of the season. The Hurricanes will get Haydn Fleury his first game of the season, replacing van Riemsdyk in the lineup vs. the Canucks.

Davidson, 27, was in Chicago on a professional tryout and appears to have cracked their opening night roster. Davidson played for the Canadiens, Oilers and Islanders last year, compiling four goals and three assists (seven points) in 51 games. Davidson might be in the Blackhawks’ top-6, beating out Brandon Manning.


Davidson has missed the last three games with an undisclosed injury but will replace Dennis Seidenberg in the lineup tonight vs. the Blackhawks. Davidson has picked up just four goals and two assists (six points) in 44 games this season.


Davidson is on his third team of the season and has picked up three goals and two assists in 36 games with the Oilers and Canadiens. He was acquired from Edmonton before the deadline and will replace Sebastian Aho in Montreal as he draws in vs. his former team.


Davidson replaced Sekera during the second game of the Oilers back-to-back over the weekend but will head back up to the press box tonight with Sekera back in.

Davidson got back into the lineup on Tuesday but will serve as a healthy scratch for the third time in four games tonight. Matt Benning will take his place on the blueline.

van Riemsdyk has recorded just two assists in 18 games so far this season and based on Saturday’s practice he will be replaced by Klas Dahlbeck in the lineup this afternoon.
