The Hurricanes signed Brenden Kichton to a one-year deal worth $700K.

Kichton, 24, has yet to make it to the NHL, but is coming off of a strong year with Manitoba (AHL). The former seventh-round pick had 41 points (11G / 30A) in 68 games and will once again find himself in Manitoba to start the 2016-17 season.
Kichton, 23, has collected 10 goals and 28 assists (38 points) in 65 games with Manitoba this season. Kichton could make his NHL debut in the final week of the regular season.
Kichton, 23, was picked by the Jets in the seventh round (190th overall) in 2013. The blueliner has never appeared in an NHL game, but has picked up 34 points (9G / 25A) in 62 games with Manitoba. He could make his NHL debut on Saturday.
