Danick Martel News

Martel failed to record a point in four games with the Flyers, so he returns to the Phantoms where he has 14 goals and five assists (19 points) in 17 contests. His return to the AHL suggests that Jordan Weal will be back in the lineup on Saturday--but it could also simply be a paper transaction since the Flyers have three days off.

Martel, 22, was an undrafted free agent, who is playing in his third full AHL season after three years in the QMJHL. Martel has been on fire with the Phantoms this season, recording 14 goals and five assists (19 points) in 17 games this season.

Svedberg has appeared in the last two games and picked up a goal on Monday, but will come out of the lineup tonight in New York. Erik Gustafsson will replace him in the lineup.

Svedberg has picked up three points (1G / 2A) in 16 games with the Blackhawks this season. In 30 games while in Rockford, the 6-foot-8, 238 lbs. defenseman has 10 points (1G / 9A) and a plus-6 rating.

Svedberg, 24, has picked up two points (1G / 1A) in 15 games with the Blackhawks this season and 10 points (1G / 9A) in 30 games with Rockford. He is expected to be in the lineup on Tuesday with Michal Rozsival sidelined.

Svedberg, 24, is a monster. At 6-foot-9, 235 lbs. he rivals Zdeno Chara for the tallest player in the NHL. Svedberg had a strong training camp and is expected to replace David Rundblad on Friday. He had three goals and 11 assists (14 points) in 49 games with Rockford (AHL) last season.
