Pastrnak (hip) has resumed skating and is believed to be "a little bit ahead" of his original mid-February timetable.

Pastrnak was originally expected to miss the first month of the season, roughly 15 games, but head coach Bruce Cassidy provided some positive information on Tuesday. Pastrnak is one of the most polarizing players in fantasy drafts this season but this update provides optimism that could push his ADP into the second round.

The Bruins have signed David Pastrnak to a six-year deal worth $40M ($6.67M AAV).

Pastrnak was back in the Czech Republic and was gearing up to skate with a team there if he didn’t get a new deal in Boston. GM Don Sweeney held his ground and got a good deal for both sides and now one of their top offensive weapons will report to training camp. Coming off of a 70-point (34G / 36A) campaign, the 21-year-old enters 2017-18 with huge expectations. Look for him to be a point-per-game player.

Pastrnak (elbow) is “highly likely” to play on Thursday.

Pastrnak has missed the last two games after undergoing an elbow procedure, but is surprisingly expected to return to the lineup tonight. Pastrnak has been great this season, scoring 19 goals with seven assists (26 points) in 27 games. He will skate with Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand.

Pastrnak (elbow) returned to practice on Wednesday.

Pastrnak underwent a procedure on his elbow last week and missed Sunday’s game. The Bruins’ leading goal scorer had the same procedure as his teammate David Backes had and Backes missed two weeks, so expect Pastrnak to be out through the Christmas break, but his return to practice is a positive sign that he shouldn’t miss too much time.

Pastrnak will undergo a procedure on his right elbow; will not play on Sunday.

Pastrnak will undergo the same procedure that David Backes had done earlier in the year. Backes missed five games or two weeks, so expect Pastrnak to have the same timetable. It is a good time to undergo the procedure as the Bruins will have e few days off for Christmas.

David Pastrnak
Pastrnak (upper-body) practiced on Wednesday; expected to play on Thursday.

Pastrnak has missed the last three games with an upper-body injury, but skated in his usual spot with Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand on Wednesday morning and will play Thursday barring a setback. Pastrnak has 10 goals and four assists in 14 games this season.
