The Coyotes have acquired Derek Stepan and Antti Raanta from the Rangers for the No.7 overall pick and Anthony DeAngelo.

Stepan missed the Rangers’ practice on Monday, but will be i the lineup on Tuesday. Stepan has three assists in his last four games and comes into play with 42 points (12G / 30A) in 58 games this season.

Stepan suffered broken ribs on Friday and is out indefinitely.
Stepan suffered two broken ribs on a hit by Bruins’ forward Matt Beleskey on Friday afternoon. With Stepan out, Kevin Hayes will centre the second line and Emerson Etem will move from the fourth to the second line right winger. There is no official timetable for Stepan’s return.

Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault said that “it’s looking less than 50-50” that Stepan will play this afternoon. If Stepan is unable to play, Derick Brassard and Kevin Hayes would likely centre the top-2 lines.

Stepan (upper-body) will play tonight vs. the Blue Jackets.
Stepan missed last night’s game with an upper-body injury that he suffered on Tuesday, but he will play tonight. J.T Miller will be a healthy scratch and Stepan will skate in his usual spot between Chris Kreider and Martin St. Louis. Stepan has six goals and 21 assists (27 points) in 28 games this season.
