Vincent Lecavalier News

Lecavalier (foot) is practicing with the Flyers this morning.

Lecavalier has not practiced since October 11th because of a foot injury he suffered in the third game of the season. He was only expected to skate on his own this morning, so staying on for the practice is a good sign that he foot is healing well. He is considered day-to-day and likely won't be back until next week.

The Rangers have re-signed Dominic Moore to a two-year deal worth $3 million.

Moore had six goals and 12 assists (18 points) in 73 games with the Rangers last season. He was a very valuable piece to the Rangers Stanley Cup push and the 2014 Bill Masterton Trophy winner will be a key member of their bottom six this upcoming season.

Lecavalier has been moved to the Flyers' fourth line ahead of Friday's game vs. Toronto.

Lecavalier has struggled in five-on-five situations at times this year. He has 15 goals and 15 assists (30 points), seven of those goals and 11 of the 30 points have come on the power-play. Lecavalier has one goal and three assists in his last 10 games, which looks like it is going to force head coach Craig Berube to drop him between Adam Hall and Zac Rinaldo.

Lecavalier (back) will return to the Flyers lineup tonight.

Lecavalier missed the last nine games with a non-displaced fracture in his lower-back. He will return to the lineup with Steve Downie coming out due to an injury of his own. The Flyers will likely ease Lecavalier back into action.

Lecavalier will miss 3-4 weeks with a non-displaced fracture in his lower back.

Lecavalier had reportedly been dealing with back spasms, but after returning to Philadelphia to be re-evaluated, a non-displaced fracture was discovered. The Flyers are not sure who will be recalled and will decide later tonight. Expect Michael Raffl to stay on the second line while Vinny is out.

Lecavalier (back spasms) is not on the ice for the Flyers morning skate.

It appears Vinny will miss his second straight game with the back ailment. His absence during the morning skate is a strong indicator that he will not dress tonight. Michael Raffl will remain in his spot on the 2nd line with Brayden Schenn and Wayne Simmonds. Consider Lecavalier day-to-day.

Lecavalier (back) won't play tonight vs. Minnesota.

Lecavalier did not skate this morning and won't play due to a back issue. He suffered the injury prior to scoring the game-winning shootout goal on Saturday vs. Nashville. It does not sound like a serious injury and he should be considered day-to-day. Michael Raffl will move up to the second line and Brayden Schenn will shift back to centre.

Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault said if he were a betting man, he'd bet on Dominic Moore being back in Rangers' lineup Saturday vs. Montreal.

Moore has missed the last six games with an oblique injury. Moore has one assist and a minus-5 rating in 11 games, he is not a realistic fantasy consideration.
