Vincent Lecavalier left last night's game vs. Phoenix and did not return. "Vinny’s is a lower body issue, he’s probably going to be out at least a week as well and we will know more tomorrow on both guys once we have further evaluation," said Flyers GM Paul Holmgren.

Through two periods of play Lecavalier appeared in 12 shifts and logged a total of 12:43 of ice-time, including 2:20 of power-play time. Prior to tonight's game against Phoenix, Lecavalier has a goal and two assists for three points, while averaging a little under 17 minutes of ice-time per game (16:50).

5 years, $4.5 per for Vinny in Philly confirmed.

Lecavalier has an opportunity to really excel on a Flyers team looking for a new identity after some high priced buyouts. With first line powerplay minutes and the potential for a Giroux-Lecavalier line, Lecavalier's fantasy stock is higher than it has been in recent years.

#tblightning have bought out the contract of captain Vinny Lecavalier

This makes the former All Star a free agent on July 5. Omitting last year's lockout, Lecavalier has been a reliable 20+ goal scorer and point producer but hasn't reached the level that deserved his massive contract. Expect him to be a significant target this offseason.

Lecavalier out indefinitely with lower body injury.

Lecavalier was hurt Tuesday late vs Panthers. At the time we were told he was fine but Tampa Bay is always secretive about injuries. He is likely to go on IR according to the Lightning which means Vinny will miss at least a week of hockey. This is a tough break for the Lightning who will lose their captain and his 22 points in 26 games.
