Drew Stafford to be healthy scratch for 2nd game in row for Sabres

After scoring 31 goals in 62 games in 2010-11 and 50 or more points the past 2 seasons, Stafford has struggled to produce this season. He may be on his way out of Buffalo with the trade deadline coming next week.

I'm hearing Drew Stafford is nursing a groin inj and is VERY questionable for tonight

Sounds like Stafford is 'Player X' aka the unknown, injured Sabres forward. The Milwaukee native is following up a 31-goal campaign with four goals and 12 points in 22 games. If he can't skate tonight, look for Paul Szczechura to take his place.

Stafford did not practice today with Brad Boyes taking his spot on the second line. The Milwaukee native has battled injuries for a few years now so this injury could turn out to be long-term. Stay tuned for a further update on the 30-goal scorer.
