Marchessault was injured in Saturday’s loss in Ottawa and has been listed as day-to-day in advance of Monday’s game in Boston. With Marchessault’s status uncertain, Denis Malgin is expected to skate with Aleksander Barkov and Jaromir Jagr and Paul Thompson has been recalled from Springfield and could make his Panthers’ debut.

After Jonathan Huberdeau left Saturday’s preseason game, Marchessault took reps with Aleksander Barkov and Jaromir Jagr. Marchessault had seven goals and 11 assists (18 points) in 45 games with the Lightning last year before signing with Florida this summer.

Marchessault, 25, split his 2015-16 campaign between the NHL and AHL. The 5-foot-9 forward had nine points (6G / 3A) in 11 games with Syracuse and 18 points (7G / 11A) in 45 games with the Lightning. Marchessault will fight for a spot on the Panthers’ opening night roster in training camp this Fall.



After playing just 8:45 TOI in Sunday’s win over the Panthers, Marchessault will come out of the lineup with Brian Boyle back in the lineup.

Marchessault has failed to record a point in two games with the Lightning this season. During his time in the AHL, Marchessault has nine points (6G / 3A) in 11 games with Syracuse. He will likely play on an all AHL fourth line with Mike Blunden and Matt Taormina, who will be serving as a seventh defenseman.

Marchessault had no points while averaging 7:26 TOI in two games with the Lightning. He has been swapped with Tye McGinn as the Lightning search for more grit on their fourth line.

Marchessault, 24, has been recalled because Brian Boyle has been battling an undisclosed injury. If Boyle can’t play on Thursday, Marchessault will make his season debut. He has recorded three goals and two assists in seven games with Syracuse this season.

Marchessault has just one assist and a minus-3 rating, but did register 10 shots on goal in four preseason games. However, it was not enough to earn him a spot on the Lightning’s opening night roster.

Marchessault, 24, has 23 goals and 41 assists in 64 games with Syracuse this season. He will probably suit up tonight while the Lightning give one of their forwards a rest.

Marchessault, 24, has registered 21 goals and 36 assists (57 points) in 60 games with Syracuse this season. He has been recalled because Cedric Paquette is out with a leg injury.

Marchessault played 12:33 and recorded one shot with a minus-1 rating in his Lightning debut on Saturday. With Marchessault heading back to Syracuse, expect J.T Brown and/or Alex Killorn to be back in the Lightning lineup on Tuesday. Marchessault has two goals and five assists in six games with the Crunch.

Marchessault, 23, had a hot start with Syracuse, scoring two goals with four assists (6 points) in the first five games. He has two games of NHL experience (with CBJ) but is expected to make his Lightning debut tonight with Ryan Callahan, Alex Killorn, JT Brown and Brett Connolly all sidelined with injuries.
