Josh Bailey News

Bailey (hand) likely to travel with the Islanders on upcoming road-trip.

Islanders head coach Jack Capuano said that the news on Bailey was "better that we initially thought." He added that Bailey has a "good chance" to travel with the team despite dealing with a broken hand on Saturday. There is no timetable for when we can expect him to be back in the lineup, but this is better news than the original diagnosis.

Bailey will miss "several weeks" with a broken hand.

It has yet to be determined exactly how long Bailey will be out, but it is expected to be at least one month. Boone Jenner is scheduled to miss five weeks after having surgery on his broken hand in the preseason. Bailey recorded his fourth point of the year before departing Thursday's contest.

Bailey returns to the Islanders lineup tonight after being a healthy scratch on Friday.

The Islanders are hoping that the night off helps spark some offence in Bailey who has just two assists in 13 games in November. He has four goals and 10 points in 25 games on the season, but the Isles are looking for more from a forward who plays in the top-6 on a nightly basis. Brock Nelson comes out of the lineup in favour of Bailey.

Struggling Josh Bailey is a healthy scratch; Colin MacDonald is in.

Bailey has four goals and six assists in 25 games, however he has just two assists and a minus-3 rating in 13 games in November. Bailey has 11 goals and eight assists in 38 games last season, so he has clearly taken a step back to begin the season.

Capuano would not commit to Bailey, Visnovsky being in lineup tomorrow but said it was very possible.

Bailey is still looking to play in his first game of the season after recovering from an injured knee. He is a decent fantasy option but I would wait to see his role on the Islanders team and how he plays out of the gate before running to the waiver wire to get him.

Bailey is still battling back from injury and could play in his first game of the season tomorrow. Monitor his status prior to tomorrow's contest vs. the Rangers. He is a good young player coming into his own, if he gets off to a good start he would be worth a waiver wire addition.
