Slavin played 15 games in the NHL in the 2021-22 season with the Chicago Blackhawks, but has otherwise spent his entire career in the AHL. Carolina has signed Josiah Slavin to a two-year, two-way contract.
Slavin was drafted by the Blackhawks in 2018 and was with the team until 2023 before getting traded to Anaheim. Most recently, he appeared in 70 games with the Toronto Marlies (AHL), picking up 10 goals and 14 assists (24 points). Now he joins his brother (Jaccob) in the Hurricanes organization, where he'll likely start the 2024-25 season in the AHL.
The Ducks have acquired Josiah Slavin from the Blackhawks for Hunter Drew.
Slavin had three goals, eight assists, 16 PIMs and a -13 plus/minus through 51 games with the Rockford IceHogs (AHL) but has been dealt to Anaheim for Hunter Drew on Thursday.
Slavin will draw into the Blackhawks lineup on Sunday.
