Kevin Czuczman News

Czuczman is in his third year with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and has one goal and seven assists (eight points) in 21 games. He has not played in the NHL since 2013-14 when he had two assists in 13 games. He'll be the Penguins' seventh defenseman with Justin Schultz out week-to-week.

Cehlarik dressed in two of the last three games for Boston but Brett Ritchie is expected back on Monday, so Cehlarik heads back to the AHL. The 24-year-old will provide a massive boost to Providence, as he currently leads the team with 10 points (6G / 4A) despite only playing in seven of 13 games.

Cehlarik will draw into the Bruins lineup on Saturday with Brett Ritchie sidelined with an infection. Cehlarik has enjoyed a terrific start to the 2019-20 AHL season, registering 10 points (6G / 4A) in seven games. He has 10 points (5G / 5A) in 38 career games with Boston.

Czuczman spent all of last season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL), where he was second among defensemen with 21 points (4G / 17A) in 65 games. The 28-year-old has just 13 games of NHL experience and they all came in 2014 with the Islanders.

Cehlarik was in the lineup in St. Louis on Saturday and will be replaced by Joakim Nordstrom on Tuesday. Cehlarik played well after he was first called up but has just two points (1G / 1A) in his last seven games.

Cehlarik has missed the last two games but will be back in the Bruins lineup on Saturday. Cehlarik, who has four goals and two assists in 13 games, will skate on the Bruins’ new-look third line with Charlie Coyle and David Backes.

Cehlarik will miss his second straight game with a lower-body injury but head coach Bruce Cassidy said that he is “close” to a return. Cehlarik should be back for Saturday’s game in St. Louis.

Cehlarik will not play Monday in San Jose because of a lower-body injury that he suffered in Los Angeles. Karson Kuhlman moved up to the Bruins second line with David Backes drawing back in.

Cehlarik played in the final three games before the All-Star break, scoring two goals and one assist in three games. That mini hot-streak was enough for the Bruins to want him to stay on the active roster over a struggling Ryan Donato.

Cehlarik was called up because Jake DeBrusk was dealing with a lower-body injury but DeBrusk will play. So Cehlarik will replace David Backes, who comes out as a healthy scratch. The 23-year-old winger has four points (1G / 3A) in 17 career NHL games and 29 points (10G / 19A) in 37 games with Providence this season.

The Bruins lost both David Backes and Anders Bjork in Tuesday’s game vs. the Ducks, so Cehlarik comes up to fill their void at forward. It sounds like Bjork will be out longer than Backes so look for Cehlarik, who has 13 points (6G / 7A) in 17 games with Providence, to replace him on Thursday.

Cehlarik has missed the last 16 games with a lower-body injury so he will return to Providence to get back up to speed. The 22-year-old has two points (1G / 1A) in five games with Boston and six points (3G / 3A) in six games with Providence.

Cehlarik’s knee got banged up in Friday’s game vs. the Penguins, so Jordan Szwarz was called up on Saturday and is expected to take Cehlarik’s spot against the Oilers. Consider Cehlarik as day-to-day and questionable for Wednesday’s game vs. the Lightning.

Cehlarik served as an extra forward during his call-up but with David Backes (illness) set to return tonight he will head back to Providence where he has two goals and three assists (five points) in three games this season.
