Johnson appeared in three games during his call-up but heads back to Iowa with Joel Eriksson Ek returning to the lineup on Monday. Johnson has seven points (3G / 4A) in 10 AHL games this season.

Johnson was originally a fifth-round pick of the Blackhawks back in 2013 but signed with the Wild this past July. The 25-year-old has 15 games of NHL experience and seven points (3G / 4A) in 10 AHL games with Iowa this season.


Johnson has split his season between the NHL and AHL and will play his first NHL game since October 23rd. The 24-year-old has one assist in 13 games with the Blackhawks and seven points (4G / 3A) in 10 games with Rockford.


Johnson has bounced in-and-out of the Blackhawks lineup as of late and has just one assist in 13 games with the big club. He heads back to the AHL to get some seasoning, where he had one goal and one assist in two games before being promoted.


Johnson has not played for Chicago since November 14th, but will replace Andreas Martinsen on Friday. Johnson has just one assist in 12 games with the Blackhawks this season.

Johnson has split the early part of the season between the NHL and AHL. The 24-year-old forward had no points in three games with the Blackhawks but picked up two points (1G / 1A) in two games with the IceHogs.

Johnson failed to record a point in three games with the Blackhawks this season. The 24-year-old heads to Rockford, where he had 13 goals and 17 assists (30 points) in 73 games last season. His return to the AHL opens up a roster spot for the Blackhawks to activate Corey Crawford (vertigo) from IR for Thursday’s start.
