The Blackhawks have acquired Malcolm Subban, Slava Demin and a second-round draft pick from the Golden Knights for Robin Lehner.

Subban has struggled this season, going 9-7-3 while posting a 3.18 GAA and .890 SV% in 20 games (19 starts) this season. The Golden Knights were looking to improve their backup goaltending situation, so Subban is part of the package to acquire Lehner. Subban will serve as Corey Crawford's backup for the remainder of the 2020 season.

Subban will start Tuesday in New Jersey.

Subban stopped 29 of 30 shots in the Golden Knights win in New York last night. With Marc-Andre Fleury still away from the team, Subban will start on back-to-back nights instead of Garret Sparks getting the nod. He's played very well recently, winning three in a row while stopping 95 of 100 shots (.950 SV%). The Devils are playing horribly and just fired their coach, so it's a solid matchup but an inexperienced goalie starting on back-to-back nights is frightening.
